I use Mac (I’ll install Asahi Linux once it supports connecting a monitor) and hate GNOME and hate Aqua (the MacOS DE)
I personally prefer KDE

thethunderwolf@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's a popular opinion on Lemmy that's unpopular in the real world?27·7 days agohttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tankie
Tankie is a pejorative label generally applied to authoritarian communists, especially those who support or defend acts of repression by such regimes, their allies, or deny the occurrence of the events thereof. More specifically, the term has been applied to those who express support for one-party Marxist–Leninist socialist republics, whether contemporary or historical. It is commonly used by anti-authoritarian leftists, anarchists, libertarian socialists, left communists, social democrats, democratic socialists, and reformists to criticise Leninism, although the term has seen increasing use by liberal and right‐wing factions as well.[5][4]

no socks, but not as sensory issue
socks just aren’t practical or useful. they make walking on some floors annoying, and since I go outside in sandals/slippers (this is my sensory issue, normal shoes are never comfortable) I’d have to take them off and on frequently. I don’t need the warmth where I live.
FuriPhone not Fairphone
It’s a Linux phone with a Debian based OS, but with the AOSP kernel using the Halium compatibility layer.
Pro-tip: don’t install Windows, don’t use any “debloaters”, just install Linux Mint
You’ll enjoy a long and happy OS life.
Android is
Erm akchually 🤓
postmarketOS is a mobile Linux distro that is neither AOSP/Linux nor GNU/Linux. It is based on Alpine Linux, a lightweight distro that uses something other than GNU (busybox and musl libc)
Fully anonymous open source development is viable. This could happen. If done well, it could be a very good OS due to being able to do things without license concerns. The problem is: using it wouldn’t be legal. Disguise mode to seem like other OS?
Is the Furiphone good? What is good and what is bad about it?

My first pc was an ubuntu pc that i had for quite a while. As a teen I recieved this Macbook from my dad. My family is all Mac users rn. My dad is an IT guy and prefers FreeBSD over Linux for technical stuff such as servers, and Mac over Linux for personal computers. Now that I recently became a libre software fan, I used a Linux VM and found that KDE blows Aqua out of the water.
