1·6 hours agoJust goes to show what disrupts legibility.
Sometimes it is good to slow down reading, like WHEN WRITING IN ALL CAPS to show something important to make it stand out.
Making Th stand out is just tiring.
I must show this cactus who is the bigger man

1·6 hours agoI think it will only teach them what thorns mean without using them in general.
Unless you prompted it like, “say something Sxan would say on Lemmy”

Science Memes@mander.xyz•LOL TFW you see your cute older (millennial aged) Japanese female colleague/mentor running on a treadmill at your institution's fitness center wearing a sports bra and you have an intrusive thoughtEnglish
5·8 hours agoCan’t always control your thoughts but you can control what you do about them and your self talk.
Thoughts can come from everywhere - what we see, hear, read, from others, from media… having thoughts like these does not mean you’re a bad person.
And because you hold yourself to the standard of a person with values you live by, you tell yourself I’ll post about it instead of doing it, because I know that it would be disrespectful and inappropriate. Good!
I hope you have a good night and are already engaged in some other activity. :)

4·18 hours agoThe discourse centered around memory safety is itself lacks the knowledge to realize that the overall value proposition of Rust is much bigger than this single aspect, although the breadth of sub-aspects that cover memory safety offered by Rust is itself also under-grasped.
What is the value proposition of Rust? I thought it was entirely about memory safety. But I’m not a programmer.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Does anyone have experience cutting their own hair? Should I cut my own hair?
1·2 days agoWow, I almost never cut my hair. Like once a year at most. But with a family that makes sense. Growing up, my dad cut my & my brother’s hair for years, although we did go to the barber sometimes.

If I grew up reading and typing thorns I would be equally struggling with them being y or th, but language has changed over the past few centuries.
