Same applies to modern protest. A big rule of thumb for this shit is: Can the evil leaders ignore what you’re doing? If so, they will. If you cry about how there should be “no kings;” you’re essentially hoping that the worst people on earth suddenly develop a conscience, hear your plea, correct all of the bad things they’ve done. No, they’ll just ignore it. Here are some disruptions to the status quo that they can’t ignore:

• The economy (go on strike, protest on weekdays, don’t be orderly, in-fact, be a total nuisance to the day-to-day operations in a city - preferably a “high value” location)
• The panopticon (ruin the surveillance state - protest the cameras, protest the data centers (also helps the last point), protest the infrastructure that these things rely on)
• Their livelyhood (protest where they live. And there’s plenty to choose from; the shear number of people whose decisions actively fuck your life is astounding)

Just remember: don’t harm anyone or anything. Protest them. Got it? Good.

If someone wants to post an article with a clickbait title and doesn’t want to be downvoted in this community, they should either rewrite the title in a non clickbaity way or write a description to clear up the intentional ambiguity. At that point, it’s up to the reader to choose whether it’s worth their time to dive into the article for further details or not.

Clickbait titles are pretty well discouraged here. Although it’s normally not an issue if a description is provided and this post is missing that as well.

One thing to note on your first point: Generally speaking, the only time that equity loss doesn’t make a difference is if there is no mortgage. If you do have a mortgage; When housing prices are stagnate or increase, you can sell your home for a similar one with little to no loss (the buyer of your house effectively pays off your old mortgage and you roll your equity into your new mortgage).

BUT, if prices tank while you still have a significant portion of your mortgage owed: you’re screwed when you need to relocate. The sell price of your house won’t cover the reminder of the mortgage. If you need to move, you either pay it off (hope you don’t need to move for work) or foreclose. The bank is cool with either - they couldn’t care less about you.

I think that it’s cool that AI is allowing people to prototype that, otherwise, never would have touched code - so props to you for that. But, if you no longer have your own voice on a public forum; Please touch some grass, my guy.

Took a look through the codebase and it seems like it could be but it’s hard to tell for sure. Some things that would lead me to believe it’s AI:

• Emojis in the readme (specifically in a bulleted list, starting each sentence).
• Big, highly descriptive, extremely consistent comment blocks for every main function.
• The shear amount of files and code and the consistency of which it was written (this could also be due to golang’s style enforcement). If written by a person, they’re beyond OCD levels of organized.

With that being said; who cares if it was made with AI? If it was: it seems thoughtfully guided by someone and it probably works fine. And if it wasn’t: this dev is nuts and just breathes production level code, no matter the project complexity haha.

I just have two requirements: I need the connection uptime to be rock solid. I also need to be able to register and pay completely anonymously. I’m not that concerned about bandwidth.

Does that matter if they have none of my data? I mean, they could log unencrypted traffic but for web browsing you should be forcing https wherever possible, so traffic logs would be mostly irrelevant. No doubt, they can see what you torrent but I can’t imagine it matters that much if they have no data about you. They could certainly build a fingerprint based on torrents and unencrypted traffic but I feel like it may be too weak to be relevant. Maybe people worry about using the official clients? But you don’t need to use them either, you can just establish a raw OpenVPN tunnel.

Been using PIA for over a decade now. I started with them by paying with a random gift card I had laying around (Walmart maybe?) and have been paying with crypto ever since. They’ve never asked for any personal details (used a burner email address) and the service has been solid the entire time. Clients on Windows and Linux both work great and are open source with pretty decent documentation. In short, sometimes I want to reliably remain anonymous online and it has worked out well for me.

I know that a lot of people here hate on PIA but I haven’t seen any justification. So if anyone here knows why I shouldn’t be using the service, I’d love to hear about it; I’d be happy to switch to something else if it works at least as well.

Songs for the Deaf - Queens of the Stone Age

In my opinion, it’s one of the most solid albums ever, start-to-finish - the kind of album that’s great on tape.

Yeah, the first one on the 360 was called Earth Defense Force 2017 (actually the 3rd game in the series). I’ve played a bunch of EDF 2017 and 2025 and they are so fun. I’m glad they’re still making them; those games are so over-the-top. If you don’t care about graphics and just want something fun, I highly recommend.

Earth Defense Force is a terrible looking game with an even worse premise and is fun as hell.
