Initially, I reached the same conclusion, but by the sounds of it, once the trust expires it simply means that the kids can now sell the stocks or do whatever they want freely. I think they don’t lose control of the stocks and if anything, they actually start to enjoy more control or at least freedom.

Europe’s best bet IMO is to keep Ukraine in the fight so long as they want to continue. This way, Russia can’t even think about attacking elsewhere. With the bought time, Europe also needs to beef up their own defenses.
It saddens me to say as an American, but the USA is no longer a reliable partner. And those American military bases on European soil would make me very nervous. They were historically used to protect Europe but could also be used to conquer, assuming the military backs Trump and attacks if ordered.

I’m generally pro migration/pro refugee and am quite sympathetic. But the issues with assimilation, not really vetting refugees, etc. has clearly alienated voters across Europe. Ditto for other wedge issues.
If moderates and those on the left continue with their status quos, high risk they’ll end up pushed from power.

Sure, there are a lot of dumb people at those companies. But that’s not the point. Failures don’t prove that the leadership or specific individuals are dumb. Plenty of smart people have failed.

Deep red states have long relied on wealthier, mostly blue states for hand outs. Without that flow of money many of those states would sink into underdeveloped status.

This veers towards been an non sequitur. The claim isn’t that Musk is the corporation or that he is responsible for every decision. However, he is one of the (and probably THE) prominent voices in his companies and his decisions can massively impact the company’s trajectory. One success is luck, multiple successes suggests there’s a lot more than luck at play.
Eh, I don’t know. Lincoln was well aware that he was walking into a massively complex situation with nothing short of the future of the country 100% on the line. He knew he was doing it at great personal risk, and I am sure on some level he knew it could (and ultimately, would) cost him his life.
Lincoln’s life was cut short so ultimately we never got to see what the next phase of his life would look like, but he persevered in the face of the greatest struggle this nation has ever faced.
Trump and friends may well create as dangerous of a scenario as the civil war, especially if Thiel, Vance, and the other tech authoritarians achieve their goal of radically overhauling if not outright destroying the country.
