3·17 days agoI recently ditched Manjaro for Debian and it’s amazing. I installed Nvidia drivers as desceibed on Debian’s wiki and have never had to read the wiki since then. Games work fine, system doesn’t break after update, always wakes up from sleep (it was a gamble on Manjaro but mostly didn’t work) and shuts down properly (Manjaro tended to freeze with black screen once it exited DE).
I used to be reluctant about switching to Debian and its derivatives because i read so much about the outdated packages and haven’t had the best experience with pop os but Debian just works and it’s amazing.

41·23 days agoI may be quite off topic but I really don’t get all the comparisons of Yakuza Like A Dragon to Persona series. It sure is an RPG but its battle system is so goddamn boring. There are aspects of building relationships with party member but it so mediocre I didn’t feel I have any impact on what was going on, as if I watched some plain cutscenes and there is no time management aspect. I really wanted to like this game but i ended giving it up halfway because I just wasn’t having fun.

3·23 days agoThere are only 3 games really. All these various versions are just cash grabs because Atlus loves selling same thing multiple times.
Go to Persona 5 Royaj for p5, Persona 4 Golden or the upcoming remake for p4 and for Persona 3 Reloaded or Persona 3 Portable for p3. It doesn’t really make sense to play multiple versions of these games, unless you are super invested in the mechanics, and installments 1 and 2 are quite different games.
Once you’re familiar with these and want to spend more time with the characters, you can try spinn-offs like Strikers or Tactica, but bear in mind they are quite different from the main series.
If you like collecting and fusing demons go to other Shin Megami Tensei games (I recommend SMT3 Nocturne and SMT5 Vengeance). If you want more supernatural high school drama, try PSP version of Persona 2. (Perhaps 1 too but i haven’t played it yet.)

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What have you been working on or learning to do recently?
2·1 month agoIt definitely longs for some more CSS but I like an idea of an online game which is not designed to take up as much of its players’ as it is possible.

3·1 month agoScreenshot please! I’m curious what it looks like.
I’m running a 2018/2019 laptop I got in exchange from a friend around 2022 for an old TV and some cash 25€ or so. I doubled its RAM to 16GB a few years ago and it’s just fine. Im not paniny to upgrade it anytime soon. Three only moments I think about upgrading is when NVIDIA fucks up my Linux setup with their new drivers and I dream of switching to AMD instead of figuring out how to fix it.

3·1 month agoI’ll probably keep on playing Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and replaying Persona 5: Royal, although I’ve been craving some PS1 era game.

3·1 month agoFF9 is totally worth playing back to back. I believe it’s the best entry in the series.

I’ve been using it on Linux for months and didn’t notice anything weird going on. It’s not my main browser though, so your mileage may vary.
