I toast a lot of bread and wanted a good toaster that will last a long time. I’m expecting to get minimum of 25 years of daily toasting out of it.
We are drowning in Temu trash. Maybe we should start to look at things from other than monetary perspective. I selected a good toaster and looked at the price tag afterwards. Apparently you can get shitty toasters for 20€ and 300€ but a good one costs exactly 120€

I selected my toaster by visiting a store and physically fiddling with the levers. From 20€ onwards, the feeling got noticeably better until 120€ price point after which it got worse. The range ended at 300€ SMEG(ma) toaster that felt like what it sounds like. I’m happy with my 120€ toaster.

Great article, absolutely blows my mind that people really live like this. I just visited Edinburgh where I walked over 10km every day. The american mind can’t comprehend this.

Adding to what others are saying: having a relatively high fps to start with helps frame gen work better:
For these reasons, frame gen works best for those who already have a high base fps. I use it take advantage of 4k 240hz monitor in visually rich single player experiences. I aim for 70-90 base fps and then double it with frame gen. For competitive multiplayer I disable it.

Thanks, saved me a click
Matthew here really eager to install tastebuds to his asshole
At least one tabloid newspaper in Finland (Iltalehti) has put the settings behind a paywall. Accept tracking or pay up.
If I recall, the extension tries to disagree, then just hide the popup and finally it will resort to agreeing. Works remarkably well. Sometimes there is a broken scrollbar or site but its an easy fix: Disable, disagree manually, enable.
They require a different mindset and approach than many other games. You can view it as a test of will: your victory is inevitable since every time you die, you respawn and have learned a little. The game tries to make you quit, not by being unfair but by punishing laziness and corner cutting. The rewarding feeling you get when you finally, initially through stubborness and eventually by skill beat a difficult boss is immense. The videos of people easily dodging attacks and showing restraint in their attacks beat difficult bosses - that will be you eventually. Just accept that dying and trying again is an integral part of the experience, it does not mean that you are bad at the game. There can not be a feeling of accomplishment and achievement if there is no resistance, no? Go and have fun! And remember, there is no “wrong way” to play - all the mechanics in the games are there for a reason, so use them!
Where did you get 2.5A as typical maximum current? Surely it must be somewhere between 8-16A (sustained). 500w is not enough for basic house appliances…
