It’s still relatively new, but Subvert is worth keeping an eye on. They’re like Bandcamp but collectively owned by the artists on there.
Always looking for new music.

I mean, I can understand that some of the tracks feel unfinished. Because, well, they were.
RIP Chi. You’re missed.

Also it bears repeating: Reform are funded by fossil fuel lobby groups. It is in their financial interest to claim there’s no climate emergency.

Yeah there’s no way I can go, but I’m happy it’s happening and I hope all the people who go have a great time!

Fine, we have established your opposition to a wealth tax in order to remove the power Musk holds via his wealth.
How would you recommend dealing with the specific threat that Musk having this financial represents?

That financial power is lobbying, enabled by taxation (us anarchists righteously call it «larceny»), that hoards wealth for the state…
Yes, I’ve seen you keep using the word “larceny”. Taxation serves multiple functions, including maintaining the stability of the currency.
Right now Elon Musk has more personal wealth than the projected 2026 GDP of 197 nations (as found on the Worldometer page of GDP by Country). In absolute terms he has more lobbying power than a majority of nation states. This is not desirable, equitable or justifiable under any ethical framework I can think of.
Do I think taxation is desirable? No, especially not in financial systems not based on fiat money. Would I support a wealth tax that would result in removing this power from Musk, or any other person with inordinate personal wealth, while we operate in a financial system that is based on fiat money? Yes.
That can happen while building new, non-heirarchical systems.
How…
As an action in parallel with other activities that actively build horizontal systems, I consider it beneficial to remove that power from the few individuals that hold it.

By removing the financial power that people who hoard wealth hold.
That can happen while building new, non-heirarchical systems.

I think this is a flawless album. Love the translucent vinyl too.

I don’t disagree in principle. But pragmatically, while a wealth tax is an imperfect system for wealth redistribution, it’s still realisable on meaningful timescales. It can be done while working to achieve true horizontalidad.

Omg that’s an incredible lineup

It’s okay to be nuanced about this. In a system where one person can “make” this much, things are so obviously out of whack that it’s not contradictory to want that kind of wealth to be heavily taxed, while still holding the view that in an anarchist system taxation is not desirable.

That’s a really cool setup you have there.

Okay I think it’s worth responding to these point by point:
Also way to go not taking the side of an active member of this community
I’m not taking sides. Being an active member of a community doesn’t absolve you or anyone else of behaving irresponsibly.
[Also way to go not taking the side of] someone understanding and in a position to increase browser support for selenium webdrivers
I don’t doubt your intention to increase browser support for selenium webdrivers. However I don’t agree with your decision to disclose what you deem a critical security bug without any indication that you attempted to disclose the issue to the project maintainer before advertising the issue here.
[Also way to go not taking the side of] a coder who’d care and doesn’t suck at coding
Your coding ability in this situation is not in question or an issue.
So what do you get for the Captain Obvious comment besides being right? A clock is right twice a day. But no dopamine hit from a clock.
What I got were clarifications to questions I had after reading your original post. I wanted to make sure that I hadn’t made any quick assumptions before I concluded whether or not I thought you had behaved ethically.
A better strategy, would be to ask about how to go about increasing selenium web driver browser support and whether a more flexible package is in the works. Not to defend a hopeless package in dire need of a rewrite. Or to provide the info i ask for about how to go about responsibly disclosing security issues.
Your original post didn’t ask how to responsibly disclose a security issue. And you posted this, by your own admission, without responsibly disclosing.
For future reference, here is how you responsibly disclose critical security issues to a project: you find contact information for a maintainer or, if available, the project’s security team. You send them a message confidentially (email, private message, issue tracker post stating you have found a critical issue you wish to disclose securely). You wait for them to get back to you. If they do, you coordinate a fix, and then you wait for the fix to be released and communicated before releasing details of the issue.
If the maintainer doesn’t get back to you, try another maintainer. If they don’t get back to you, then you’ve done all you can and you can release information on the issue.
Let me ask you: what was your intention behind your original post? You haven’t provided a fix here, or a PR, as far as I can see you haven’t forked the project with a fix. So I don’t understand how doing this makes the situation any better, if anything it’s placed the users of this project at a higher risk.

If you made no attempt to disclose this to the author before posting here, then I disagree with your judgement on this.

You decided not to responsibly disclose a security vulnerability that you assessed to be critical, because you thought it was obvious?
I don’t have any advice I can offer, just solidarity. I’ve gone through a few spells of insomnia, and lately it’s happening again.
I’ve taken to writing when I’m awake at silly-o’clock in the morning. Just whatever comes into my head. Sometimes it’s a dialogue with myself, and my therapist has suggested when I’m doing this to write part of that dialogue (the part the current “me” is conversing with I guess?) with my non-dominant hand.
I don’t know if it helps my sleeping, but it clears my head of some of the noise.
If that is the case then how does distillation work at all?
That’s really interesting! however I’m skeptical of the information in the table in that article. It doesn’t describe testing methodology or list any studies where these results were recorded.
That said, I understand that not all the alcohol will cook off and stay out. Some will re-condense and re-enter whatever you’re cooking, and any covering or absorbant layers will retain some of the alcohol that has evaporated.
Edit: my bad, the article does mention a source. However the methodology isn’t fully described and the source doesn’t align with the claims made in the article.
If you’re cooking with alcohol and it’s getting hotter than 78 °C (or 173 °F if you’re so inclined) then all that alcohol will evaporate off.
