Maybe they just want to downsize cause there isn’t as much to do nowadays when the OS is so mature?

We are probably walking a very thin line in terms of PSR. Usually we never spend in January, and never long-term? Spending this amount of money - in January - reeks of desperation imo. The form is horrible and the team doesn’t seem to be improving under Amorim.
At the same time, the reasoning for sacking EtH was that the earlier the pain of transition starts - the better. But there has to be some highlights to justify that pain and we are not seeing it right now so the leadership is now desperate to give Amorim more tools to improve things because in the end - if they sacked the manager and hired a new one (which undeniably is a great manager - I have nothing against Amorim) and we end up in a horrible position with no leverage in the summer window and a squad depleted of motivation after finishing 14th… Then were does that leave us? Then it’s hard to argue that sacking EtH was the right choice… Or RvN if you so like (i.e. going with RvN for the rest of the season)
Can’t imagine we’d spend this amount at this point of the season otherwise.

Couldn’t watch the game today and more and more often when this happens it turns out I’m quite glad I missed it when I heard what it was like.
Seems more like someone sucking up to Trump rather than something they realistically believe they could get passed
Get in!
Oh cool, other teams are also allowed to shit their bed on set pieces!
Ask yourselves - does this look any better than the first games under Amorim?
Yeah, and I have a Galaxy Watch 6 and my wife has a Galaxy S23 (not sure if there is any “ecosystem” benefit of us both having Galaxies though…)
I guess I could wait to see what the Pixel 10 has in store but then again - why get a Pixel when you are not going to use what is Pixel about it? I’m in Europe so I don’t get all the smart features of the Pixel - I just get vanilla Android with worse hardware than the competitors. But a nice camera which I like. Haven’t tried the Galaxy camera app in a while!
I’m on a Pixel 7 Pro and was considering moving to S25 Ultra this year but it’s really hard to understand whether it’s a good phone when all impressions are about how similar it is to last year’s model…
And last year’s model was very similar to the model released the year before that.
So essentially it’s not much of an upgrade if the S25 Ultra at large is similar to the S23 Ultra which was available at the time I got my P7P…
I go through a cycle for this. I leave Reddit because I hate it. And then I go here and well it’s quite obvious it’s a certain type of people who are willing to jump through hoops and use the fediverse. I find most of the opinions here to be a little bit too extreme for my taste. I just want to discuss football (soccer) and tech…
But I agree with you. It only feels empty because we all decide to not hit “post”.
I wonder why Antony’s leaving on loan would help this transfer. I understand it from a wage perspective (getting some of his wages off our books) but how do wages relate to our transfer spending?
Since Antony seems to be on about £100k/week - it means that over a 6 month period he costs us £2.4M. A significant amount of money of course but nowhere near the 20-30M we are talking about here. Even if we consider a transfer of 20M would be amortized over 5 years - then that would be about 4M towards our books this season - right? So maybe that’s how it starts to make sense…
Yeah, something needs to be done. Wouldn’t be surprised if we see some action this January.
Remember when Apple released the $1000 phone and it was a big thing?
Eventually this will be the normal.
This team consistently puts out a performance somewhere between shit and very shit.
It’s probably implied that if not enough people take this offer - people will be fired.
I’ve been through tech layoffs. Random people are axed and people who thought about leaving anyways stay. This is a much better solution where those who considered leaving anyways can take them up on the offer.
