  • Kinda same. One time in primary school when I got a book from the school’s library, I had to walk about 10 minutes to get to the bus station after classes, and I remember being disappointed that this meant I couldn’t continue the book for those 10 minutes. I also had a children’s encyclopedia back then with all sorts of topics from astronomy to history to technology, that I read several times.

Granted, I was never necessarily all in on reading. I would be split between that and gaming or TV as well. But compare that to today, after school managed to kill reading for me, and now I don’t really read, and just play games or watch anime instead.

  • Elon Musk being against the social media ban on under 16-year-olds is him basically reaching a good conclusion from the wrong equation, because he’s not doing it out of privacy concerns about how everyone would probably have to verify themselves to prove that they’re older than 16 years old. He’s doing it because it would not be good for his business.

I’m not sure how they could implement this without requiring ID verification on every single internet user. I guess I’m not familiar with the topic enough to say if there is another way that they could pursue, but even if there is, at the same time, I’m not too confident in the governments opting for the other options. I’m from neither Spain nor Greece, so I guess I can’t speak on this, but I’m just referring to governments as a general group. And because a lot of different countries are trying to do this at the same time, I’m also not too confident about my own country not doing this at some point, sooner or later.

  • I feel like this will end up being a cycle. The AI companies are pushing for AI summaries, which then leads to younger Gen Z and the new Gen Alpha being familiar with and preferring AI summaries. This, in turn, leads to other companies implementing AI summaries because they see that’s what the new generations are using, which leads to the new generations being even more accustomed to those summaries, which leads to more companies implementing them, and it’s just an endless cycle.

  • This is why I cannot dislike the 67 meme. I don’t actively like it or anything but we have our own funny number and there were 42 as well and 21 for a while.

There are definitely things to criticize about the new generation, I am not denying that, but finding a number amusing is too inoffensive for me to care.
