4th and 5, the national championship on the line right here…
I’m sorry for your loss… although I am glad my UT is no longer the only team to be embarrassed in Fayettenam with a field storming in the Pittman era. Would have appreciated that game not be referenced in the post-game interview though.
Hope you run the table and we meet in the SECCG for the UT bowl
10 Michigan @ Washington
So maybe Tuttle is the QB moving forward? Hey, third time’s the charm. They say having 2 QBs is having none, but they never said anything about trying 3 QBs
I actually kind of wish that the community had Bama ranked #1, because for those upsets in the past I’ve swapped out the end zones with those of the upsetting team (unfortunately last season that included my own Longhorns losing as the community’s #1 in the Red River Shootout). Of course, I don’t have Vanderbilt’s end zones ready to go in my Photoshop file…
I may still shop in Pavia over the script A when I have some more time tomorrow because this is just huge for them and deserves special treatment
Absolutely. They have so much chemistry and the playcalling is genuinely creative and effective. Pavia just oozes confidence.
In contrast, Alabama is off-and-on. A handful of amazing plays between a lot of clunky ones (especially on defense).
Newcomer to the conference here. I’m familiar with Alabama because we beat those scrubs by double digits in their house last year. But Vanderbilt – they are new to me. They must be a traditional powerhouse of the SEC, right?
So I heard that Mizzou was prepping to not face Weigman and I assumed that was just coach speak, but uh… looks like that might have been true
A&M players pushing refs. Aggy gonna aggy
Go Navy, Beat Air Force!
Really beautiful reverse on 4th and 2 to score a TD there. More of that, please
Tired: georgia - alabama (wimpy ABC theme song, possibly AI-generated)
Wired: JACKSONVILLE STATE - KENNESAW STATE (CLASSIC CBS HORNS BLARING)
Side note: I have the CFB on CBS theme on my phone and use it to hype myself up on game days, alongside that AT&T commercial song “Summertime Lover” that they played incessantly during the 2019 season
In the TCU-UH game:
“This is exactly the kind of start Houston needed” said on a drive where they fumbled the ball (and recovered) twice
Dropped out: Louisville (7), South Carolina (3), Georgia Tech (NV), Liberty (NV)
Looks like you forgot about Utah, which plummeted from 8th to unranked (T31). Oof… They’re not garbage, they’re just waiting for Cam Rising to come back! “Trust me bro, he’ll be good to go next week” --Kyle Whittingham, probably
Sorry to have missed this one! I’ve been so swamped with work and personal stuff at the same time I haven’t been able to keep up with CFB as much as I’d like. It is nice to see a presumably all-human poll, though. (edit: nevermind, I just read the other comments)
I’ll update the banner and sidebar shortly.
FWIW, this is what my ballot (purely a computer ranking) would have been:

I tuned back in about halfway through the 4th. Absolutely wild ending.
I kind of thought Georgia wasn’t as vaunted as they were made out to be going into this one, so the yuuuuge lead Alabama built up felt like proof of that. But with the script flipped in the second half, now I don’t know what to make of Bama. Maybe they’re both really good, or maybe they’re both slight imposters. I think the October 19th games (Bama @ UT and UGA @ UT) will actually tell us how legit these 2 teams are
Alabama is just eating Georgia’s lunch right now. I don’t think either team is really built to come back from a big deficit, so this could become a blowout
I HATE TAKING POINTS OFF THE BOARD.
This might be my biggest pet peeve in football. You kick a FG and get 3 points. Why accept the offsides penalty and try going for it on 4th? I’ve seen it fail way more than it be successful. Just keep the points! All you’re doing is giving momentum to the other team
Also love the stat that Texas is one of four programs to have yet to trail this season (the others being Tennessee, Indiana, and Army). Really looked like that was in jeopardy but we held them to another field goal. Gotta get more points soon though
Why is Louisville-ND on Peacock? This is not going to get people to subscribe to Peacock. NBC would certainly get more eyeballs and ad money if it were on broadcast TV
Texas is allowing just 5.5 points per game
I love that stat. We’ve always been able to play offense, but we have struggled with defense for so long. Coach K has really been transformative to our program
Exactly how they drew up that play, lol. The exact same kind of TD happened earlier in the NIU-NC State game and I thought “huh, that’s neat”
I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THESE UPSETS. (Although Michigan and Mizzou weren’t technically upsets, which is why they don’t lose their logos in the sidebar)
I see the Canes are losing too (can anyone explain why this game is so late?) but I have a commitment tomorrow morning so I am going to bed. If they fall as well, I will get around to the banner in the afternoon. If anyone wants me to do anything special to the banner this week for all the upsets, I’m open to ideas.
