The Hungarian flag might be a better choice here instead of the US flag.

Programming@programming.dev•Use Protocols, Not ServicesEnglish
1·1 day agoOkay, but protocols seem less easily usable than services (for example, Matrix vs Discord/Stoat)

2310·1 day agoI think “stochastic parrot” is a terrible way to describe LLMs. (Not to mention most people don’t use the term “stochastic” a lot.)
“Slot machine autocomplete” might be a better choice.
Thanks! Will try to remember it for next time
Good comparison, too.
c/antimeme?
(I wish we were able to easily tag communities…)
Perhaps, but it’s still worth a try.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, after all.
Fair enough, as until Stop Killing Games reaches its goals, piracy might be the only way to preserve some games.
How about FOSS crowdfunded media supremacy?
As free as piracy for most users, but legal and developers get to keep the lights on

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Spend time setting up Hyprland just for an update to break your config and now you have to troubleshoot before you can be productiveEnglish
2·2 days agoYeah… I don’t think that’s the right distro for me from what I heard of its complexity. Even manually-installed Arch is a stretch. I’m more likely to move to something like Kubuntu or openSUSE.

9·3 days agoYup. My Arch+LUKS+KDE setup freezes on first boot half of the time and I can’t be bothered to keep trying to fix it because it takes less than 5 minutes of my time per day and I run backups of the important stuff once or twice a week, and I’ll likely distrohop within the next 12 months. Worst case scenario, I wipe the whole thing, archinstall from scratch, and restore from backup.
(well, worst case that doesn’t result in physical/BIOS damage…)

Apparently the idea of poor people getting married is too woke for Julie :P
