I’m really confused by the word “woke” now.
It feels like it’s become a catch-all for anything that isn’t right wing? It’s like a not so subtle dog whistle.

Oh man, that sounds exciting! Getting to see a NASA launch sounds like a cool vacation. I hope you enjoy the trip!
I really hope this keeps spreading. I would like to see strong unions that protect workers become the norm.
I was part of a union once, and it seemed like the only thing they were good for was if you were injured at work(which is good!) But they didn’t really do much for us other than that.
On the flip side, my dad worked printing newspapers for 35 years, and their union was much better. Negotiated for more sick days, better raises, more vacation time. There was still a bit of an old boys club when it came to additional perks (some of the union guys gave preferential treatment to their friends. Partial abuse of union funds) but at least they still took care of their own.
If I’m recalling correctly, a couple of the larger subs had mods stop completely, and reddit just replaced them with power mods
Same. There’s been a few times I’ve needed info from reddit subs, but I’ve never interacted since. I miss some of the activity in the more niche subreddits, but I’m more productive with my time now so I guess that’s good lol
My guess is that people are getting into the Halloween Spooky vibes already! But otherwise, I don’t know. Darkwood was free on Xbox games with gold a long time ago, and I snagged it then, but I just never got around to it until now
Is titanfall 2’s multiplayer still active?
I tried darkwood this weekend, and it’s left me torn. I really enjoy certain aspects about it, but I feel like the pacing is weird.
I finished Still wakes the deep the other day and I thought it was ok. It was an interesting environment to explore, but I didn’t think it was all too scary.
I’m off to find a different horror game to play now.
In college a few years ago I had a instructor who believed arthritis was made up in a person’s head.
I had a car behind me with LED headlights the other day. When I would look in my rear view mirror, it appeared fine, but if I focused on the road, the refresh rate on the LED’s created a strobing effect, which was extremely distracting.
Oh ohh or my other favorite is when people have massive trucks that illuminate your whole car because of their lights. It would be nice if there was a required standard
Edit: Honestly, if it wasn’t for urban sprawl, stupidly cold winters, and these massive vehicles with aggressive drivers, I would prefer to just bike.
I wouldn’t have guessed this would be the tipping point, but I’m excited to hear more about this in the future. This would be amazing news
Outer Wilds is probably one of my top 5
It’s probably my favorite game that I’ve played in the past decade
The 3DO.
I didn’t have many games for it, and emulation I think is kinda sketchy last I checked (I think the main emulator is all in Russian?) But it was full of FMV’s and all the fun that came with them.
Twisted: The game show is one of my favorite titles, but parts of it are definitely a product of its time (specifically the trivia)
Oh man, I want one of these, but the price makes it hard to justify. One day I’ll snag one up :)
Ohh I’ve wanted to play the zero escape series at some point. I didn’t realize it could be unsettling! Cool I will put it on the list, thanks!
Ahh, that’s such a shame when that happens. I’ll avoid it like the plague then!
Yeah, I thought it was pretty okay! I ended up getting about halfway through, I think? I got caught by the monster a couple of times when he randomly decided to pop up, and I somewhat shifted from “this is spooky” to “I’m just avoiding this road block”
It’s super tricky because I don’t know how to keep myself immersed in the experience for a lot of these titles.
I did enjoy the fact that they tried something new with the bunker. I thought it was probably the closest I got to being scared since the Dark Descent, so I think that says something for sure.
I think I’ve been exposed to too much horror, which might have dulled the experience somewhat. I really enjoy hearing about what/why people enjoyed horror games, so I don’t think your point was moot! I think horror is a very unique genre that pushes game design to its extremes in a lot of ways.
I really liked Outlast when it first released. Outlast 2 was pretty good as well. I think the tricky part is if you die or mess up too many times in horror games, the fear gets dulled.
I don’t recall layers of fear creeping me out much, but I haven’t tried the second yet. Definitely worth a shot
I find Amnesia titles don’t do it for me anymore. I think maybe I played too much and got too familiar with how the AI works. I’ve peeled back the curtain, so to speak and ruined them for myself, aha.
I really liked alien isolation when it first came out. I thought it was a very cool take on horror. The AI seemed super impressive
PT is great. I wish it was still easily accessible.
That whole situation is such a shame. There was so much potential there!
I felt like I did hear some people use it in a more “legitimate” or “good faith” way around the time it first was becoming a more commonly used word.
But then it seemed it quickly just became…this lol. Aside from those couple occurrences years ago, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone use it IRL.
