I’m right there with ya. Don’t forget to make sure you set the interleaving correctly on your Winchester drive!

I had a portable talking version of battleship (Battleship Command) as a kid and it has these little planes. If I remember correctly, I think they allowed you to “see” a little bit of the opponents board and you placed them on top of your own ships?
Also the sound effects in that version were great, almost all done by human voice. The ship sinking sound was hilarious “glub glub glub”
Edit: in fact, this picture definitely looks like it’s from Battleship Command!
I have no idea how I went this long without knowing The Salt Lick did all you can eat family style meal, apparently it’s even at the top of the menu…
Although I’ll admit my favorite parts are the mustard BBQ sauce and the hammock garden, agreed that the BBQ is meh. And having known lots of country folks, evading taxes by only taking cash sounds about right.
I Circe what you did there!
An answer to make most people mad:
Interesting, interesting. We call the female lightning bugs here glow worms because they are wingless, but today I’m learning that is not the case for all species!
Also Glühwürmchen is a cute word.
I grew up calling them lightning bugs, and I’m so excited to see a thread full of people calling them the same!
I remember once opening the door to a garage (with a gravel floor), hundreds of the little guys immediately dove in to the gravel. It was… fine. I was… fine.
Conversely, I was at a snake petting zoo and they had an arachnid room. There was a big ol’ scorpion there covered with it’s babies taking a ride and it was honestly very cute! (This was thousands of miles from home, so that helped too.)
In summary: Scorpions… sometimes?
I had no idea this could happen, I’ll have to keep an eye out!
I believe it’s referring to the end of the gold standard for the dollar, as a way to sell bitcoin.

I don’t agree with the entire analysis in that post, but definitely agree with the general “wtfhappenedin1971 trying to scam you” vibe.

I know I’m a weirdo, but I really loved it since they felt like little puzzles. On the other hand, Electromagnetics felt like a swamp of sorrow and partial derivatives…
Yes it’s nice to see a proper showing of our EE siblings 😄
That was fun, thanks! Now I know another fun little trivia game, hurray 🤓

Reasonably obligatory xkcd?
Aw, I remember coworkers had gotten corn and onion pizzas as a treat the first time I visited my remote office in Taipei (from Pizza Hut). I believe there were also shrimp pizzas, I felt very special 😊
But yes, alas it seems rare here in the US!
A legged continuity.
Haha, yes, charro beans 😆 Yup, I’m from Georgia, though I’ve also lived here and there in my day. Char siu buns are still among my favourites!
BBQ culture really is amazing and wonderful to share, and I appreciate you sharing your experiences.
What about churro beans?? Even though they’ll never surpass baked beans+Brunswick stew with BBQ for me, I was very pleasantly surprised by the difference in BBQ culture there and very much loved my churro beans 😊
Yeah, my blood pressure meds are pressed tablets that start dissolving right away and are extremely bitter. Not antibiotics bitter (thank god!), but still extremely unpleasant.
Same here, I’m a computer engineer trying to do 20-30/week. So far the only places that will even talk to me are where I formerly worked full time.
I’ve had multiple people suggest that I simply agree to work full time and then just not, but I’m not sure if those folks realize how stressful that can be.
I wish you luck in your situation!
