@Jimmycakes @Davriellelouna, haha, nor the government.
@BalpeenHammer, I’m a control freak, haha, not really.
I’ve, from early age, loved pulling things apart and figuring out what makes them work and found hands deserved to be a tool worth for more than just ten finger typewriting, etc.
These days we’re often ending up in the ‘monetary scraping by/time poor’
box and so rely on others in their fields of (greater/lesser) expertise…
@BalpeenHammer, Trade Checka, Builders Check, looking at jobs done, word of mouth…
I do a lot of stuff I need done myself so my dependence on others is low.
@BalpeenHammer, I guess that’s where the ‘buyer beware’ comes in.
I do background checks or recommendations from people I know. I think you still can be unlucky as times. I like to trust people but I verify as good as I can, especially when big sums are involved.
@BalpeenHammer @quoll , not the ones that I know.
I think the bigger problem already might be that the ‘pied Pipers’ of industry make to many offers that can’t be refused (otherwise how can people that not that long ago gave one opinion now claim the opposite,
I mean, are they nut jobs pretending to be normal or just haven’t they got enough backbone to stand against orders from the top, or the money is too good - both I guess).
@Dave @TagMeInSkipIGotThis , I’m wondering about the legality of that as well plus I would tell them that I boycott them because of it.
As for surcharges, imho they’re a blatant rip off, any business surely has all their costs already calculated into the price of their wares.
@BlueEther @shellieg , could be a mast year - be a good start to know what causes it.
@GGNZ , Cinnamobus for a new name?
Anything more catchy?
@Viper_NZ @Ilovethebomb , thinking about it: Shouldn’t the country responsible for its sinking pay for the cleanup?
Or like with capitalism, are profits privatized and costs socialized?
Ie is the damage done by war faring countries forgotten and is there no accountability?
@stellargmite @MightyCuriosity , that’s the cool thing about Mastodon, most pics have an alt txt, not just for visually impaired users but to add clarity and info.
@eagleeyedtiger @Dave , petrol vehicles RUC is already paid through the petrol.
@eagleeyedtiger @Dave, some vehicles have totally sound motors into the high 200k kms.
(service history and check up is good, also shows what’s been changed/new and how long ago)
Check rubber mounts and suspension, they add to a quiet, comfortable drive and a more secure one, they often show wear at around 100 to 120k km, check replacement.
I’d go for a model that sold plenty so there are spare parts if necessary and an economic one (saves money on petrol and better for environment).
@Davriellelouna, the destructiveness of this government follows more and more the Musk - Trump idiocy.
