I haven’t really played since 2020, and have been waiting for 1.6 on the Switch to start again.
And holy cow, there is a whole other game’s worth of content! Island, mastery cave, new crops, new bundles, new characters, and new dialog for old characters, and variety in festivals.
As a new player who doesn’t want to look anything up I have a question. Is there stuff I can miss or does it all come around next year again? If there is something please don’t tell me what it is.
All come next year.
Thanks
There isn’t anything you can miss entirely that I can think of. (Ok, maybe some low-level weapons from the mines, but those aren’t important)
It’s possible to miss festivals, and some cutscenes won’t come up until you are in the right place-time-season, but as you said, you can do it the next year.
Thank you
I just started a new save on the meadow farms! First time starting over. I’m excited to have a fresh start and build new relationships. I’m feeling Penny this round.
For 2025, I’m trying to do more IRL stardew: fixing up a community centre, starting a calendar of birthdays and local events, and keeping track of likes and dislikes of friends and neighbours. Also the usual gardening and farm animals.
I thought it would be fun to play a new save and get some inspiration for my plans
started a play-through a few months back
did year 1 very efficiently, almost got community center within a year (got it spring 1 of year 2)
then the update came out for switch so i’ve been enjoying all the new content - haven’t been to endgame since 2019 so there was a lot i haven’t seen
i’m on year 4 now, working on perfection. i have almost all the requirements, just need another 4 million to buy the clock
Started a new game with my wife after the latest update hit the Switch. We’re not too far yet, but I’m excited about the new content!! We’ve already seen some new things.
Oh crap. You just reminded me that I haven’t bought Stardew for Switch yet, and that it would be a great handheld couch game to revisit. 🤔
And on a quiet, cold Saturday morning, he decided it was time to correct that problem, and stepped into the Valley on yet ANOTHER platform.
I only play it on my steam deck. It’s perfect.
On steam deck is there a list of controls somewhere? I have been having trouble remembering what buttons do what and I was wondering if there’s a way to quick change tools.
I don’t remember off the top of my head.
If there isn’t, you can use a preset or custom steam controller layout.
