    Fun fact: This is pretty much a myth! There is only one case of a prion disease being transmitted via cannibalism in humans - Kuru. Its only contracted through consuming the brain matter of an infected individual, and has only occured in one group - the Fore people of Papua New Guinea, who practiced funerary cannibalism. It’s been eradicated since 2009.

    This gets trotted out all the time as the justification for cannibalism being bad/wrong, and it just isn’t a factor. The truth is that human cannibalism is, except for one single instance, fine. And avoiding the consumption of brain tissue mitigates even that one impossibly rare risk.
