The second .world isn’t on board with forming an internet based violence mob, people lose their minds. I got a temp ban for saying “may the rich dream of guillotines.” Not even mad about it, I get it. Can’t just go from 0 to violence mob at the drop of a hat. Ty to everyone who makes Lemmy work.

“Let’s kill [Insert Person Name Here]”.

I don’t think most people are saying “Let’s”. Things like “I hope” or “It would be awesome if” which seems unlikely to provoke any legal issues.

    • Slaves :- How do we get rid of this oppressive system of slavery?
    • Lemmy world mods :- Slaves should utilise non-violent methods, like giving roses, hugging each other and sharing smootches with their owners and govt members. This will end slavery.

When Lemmy is your world you make posts like this, entirely oblivious of your insignificance to much else.

You can show this to 100,000,000 opressed people and not one would have a single fucking idea what any piece of it is, nor would they care to understand. As profound as a fart in the blizzard.

And yet, OP’s energy is spent…

I don’t know why some instances seem to try and emulate corporate run social media. We do not answer to advertisers. We do not need to worry about looking appealing for investors or being bought out.

Direct threats and such yeah I get. Those pose legal issues. But celebrating? Come on.

I still want to know what admin explicitly told little_cow to remove mentions of jury nullification.

Cuz either they made it up in the moment (which is a problem in and of itself) or if an admin just had heard somewhere that you’ll get dismissed from jury selection for saying anything about nullification and thought that meant it was illegal to talk about ever…

i was asked to moderate anything that is illegal specifically mentioning “jury nullification” and “financially supporting” this has been changed now until a larger announcement is made

There might have been some language issues going on and it’s just a misunderstanding too.

I don’t know who would phrase it with “moderate” like that…

You are not fit to judge who is or is not allowed to call for killings. None of us are, individually. The laws on this matter make it risky to leave the content up.

I have said repeatedly that the POS CEO was a terrible person who will not be missed and NOTHING I’ve commented has been removed for such commentary. When I say these events were the obvious conclusion to an oppressive system where election outcomes clearly show things will not improve, when I predict more such events will happen again soon, I am breaking no rules. Where the line is drawn is clear and appropriate.

Tolerance ends with the intolerant, rules need to be enforced uniformly.
