I hated the turn based combat at first but have come to really enjoy it. I’ve been beaten by the last enemy with a tiny sliver of health and I’ve won by the same margin too.
Nothing sweeter than nailing a low percentage chance hit 🙌
When Shadowheart manages to hit a 95 % attack.
She’s pretty much not in my party unless I know I’m going to fight undead.
Her subclass is just garbage in BG3. Respeccing her with more strength (and ignoring the firebolt) are almost mandatory.
Edit: Though that doesn’t change the fact that clerics in D&D just always miss. I gave my cleric in my home game the lucky feat for that reason.
Clerics in D&D went to the X-COM school of combat, I see.
Respec her as a vengeance paladin. She’ll still have Paladin of Shar tags for conversations and she won’t miss all the time.
Also anyone using fire bolt should know that it rolls on intelligence so she’s almost always gonna miss with it. Sacred flame is marginally better but since it has a dex save it tends to miss a lot too. I just use her mace when I have her as a cleric. Make her chug some strength elixirs and she’s fine as a melee cleric even in her trickster subclass. Or beeline to Withers and respec her as soon as you are able.
Risky Ring is my favorite item in the game. Makes my gloomstalker assassin so deadly.
