You aren’t a drag on a working system (medical, economic, whatever). Don’t blame yourself, it’s all geared for profit and not to help the most people possible.
Thank you. I don’t actually blame myself, but I understand how these systems work, and they work on expecting some economic output from immigrants. Womp womp.
I mean, maybe? There’s already generic version of my meds available and they’re about $4,500 a month without insurance, as opposed to $18.5k for the name brand. I’m not sure how much I’d save having them made in a situation like that.
I’m in a very similar position. Major preexisting condition which requires expensive care for the rest of my life, 10 years max of productivity left in me. No country would have me, and all I want to do is flee. Unless a miracle happens next week, but I’m honestly quite pessimistic.
Sorry to hear that. I hope Kamala wins still because Trump will likely try to overturn democracy, but at least you’re alive unliked the 40k+ dead Palestinian children, women, innocent civilians that Kamala has helped kill.
I’m not sure “my candidate is bad but the other is worse” is going to work again this time. Biden was pretty proud about his support of Zionism and Kamala has said that we’ll always support Israel when asked about the war.
I’m following the most left people in the US government who are saying they disagree with the current admin stance and Harris’ campaign position, but they support getting her in office to change her mind as much as possible. I get it, US position on this has been horrible for decades, 1947 was a terrible decision on the part of the controlling countries at the time, but we have to work with what will work, and that’s only one choice. It’s not a vote or support for genocide like some want to simplify it, it’s picking the side that is open to change.
Harris has said more than just we’ll support Israel, again it’s so much more complex than memes and armchair analysts can cover. I’d challenge anyone to compare what she’s said (or Biden since Harris isn’t President yet) vs. Trump and try to make the “both sides” argument work. The details are important, but they aren’t very soundbite or meme friendly.
I get it. Trump will be worse and has said worse about Palestine. I’m not doubting that. You don’t have to convince me of that. But I’m still voting third party because I’m not playing the game each cycle as Dems move further right until they become like Trump. Demand they make the right choice now if you’re worried about fascism.
Okay, so you’re a part of the problem. Voting third party is misunderstanding the trolley problem. There’s only two options, not pulling the lever to reduce suffering is still making a choice that increases the total amount of suffering.
Get this conservative pro-trump bullshit out of here. Third party candidates are funded as spoilers and the only message voting third party sends is that it was money well spent by the conservative party and foreign nations.
How does people voting for Jill Stein hurt Kamala? It sounds like you don’t really believe in having a democracy. Also, if third party is so appealing to conservatives like you allege, wouldn’t that be helping take votes away from Trump?
Are you seriously asking me how not voting for someone to be elected hurts their chances of getting elected?
You also completely misunderstood my second point as well. Third parties are appealing to the leaders of the conservative party because they divert votes away from the progressive party. They give anyone who finds the conservative party discomforting an opportunity to throw away their vote instead of helping the only other real contender thus increasing their chance of success.
I will have to assume you are a bot if you can’t engage in well meaning discussion.
Maybe you’re run across this recently in your feed. If not, a supporter for Stein said what others have been already. She never intends to win, she runs to be a third party. If she cared about the Green Party she’d be active for local support building between the Presidential election years.
Yes, since if Trump takes it I will lose access to my meds and probably die. It’s fucking scary.
Is there anywhere you can go? Any other country that would take you?
Too old, too poor, too sick. Nobody is taking US “refugees” in my position.
I mean, I understand, I’m a drag on the system, they’re not going to get a ton more economic output out of me. Still blows.
Maybe that will change after the election but I don’t expect the rest of the world to be too receptive to our refugees.
I’m sorry friend. Any local support organizations able to help you?

I’m so sorry. I understand major medical issues. I really hope for your and a lot of other people’s sakes that this is going to go Harris’ way.
Thanks, friend. All we can do is vote, cross our fingers, and hope.
I have no clue if this could help your situation and hopefully you won’t need alternative access to you medication but just in case …

Good luck and I hope you continue to get what you need

Which needs to change. No one disagrees with that. Well, except a lot of Trump supporters.
