Honestly it was more civilized than I expected. Vance still lied through his teeth, but that was bound to happen.

So… Vance was not lying, but nothing he said was true…

How exactly does that work in your hospital ward?

I’m sure Vance was lying, but if these were anything like the Presidential debates, there would definitely be a strong Democrat bias. You can’t possibly think that Walz didn’t get fact checked because he was a perfect little angel with flawlessly honest rhetoric, right?

Disclaimer: I didn’t watch very much of the debate because, as others said, it was boring, but Harris sure as shit lied in her debate.

I turned it on and was confused about why they were both speaking calmly and coherently. I thought this was a debate? Booooooring. I only turned it on to get an update on if they are still eating the dogs, but no one had the stones to pander to my special interest. This sucks, wouldn’t be caught dead watching the full thing.

I love how when he was asked about the discrepancy in his claims about being in Hong Kong, he straight up said “That was my bad, I misspoke,” and the MAGAts are still trying to say he lied.

Its refreshing to see someone taking accountability. As well as he was saying that he was there during protests not the massacre. Close but not identical

Vance over performed slightly. I’d say Walz underperformed slightly. Walz was too nice.

In the end, I think Walz wins by a fair margin. Plus Walz got the biggest two soundbites that will be played for the next week ad nauseum.

Vance had absolute shit to work with. Walz could have given the Independence Day speech.

I actually appreciate the part where Walz went off script and responded directly to Vance and the question asked. It was about Congress making the laws, and not the Vice President. They’ll likely use that to attack Walz and Harris, but I appreciated him dropping a bit of the show and just conveying reality.

The changes they were talking about require a vote from Congress. Vance dismissing that and saying it can be done through executive action should be concerning. Technically, it might be true, considering the President can just start shooting/jailing congresspeople until they vote his way. But I don’t think that’s what they wanted to express.

Walz did a great job, I am super happy.

I like how Walz chose not to dig into Vance too much, but instead he focused on a return to some sort of a normal functioning government.

Even some republicans are tired of the war between the left and right, and some of those who publicly identify as trump supporters may secretly vote for Harris simply because they do not want to continue to be at odds with their left wing family members.

Some republicans might recall a time when they were the patriotic ones, loving their football, their police, and their country. Now the party of trump is being told that football is woke, that the police are weak, and that the country is a shithole.

I think some of them miss what the Republican party used to be.

Even if it is just 5 percent of trump voters, Walz did a great job sending the message that it’s time we come together as a country and start making progress where it can be made, rather than feeding into the identity politics game of mud slinging.

Vance and his ilk wear their atrocious views on their sleeves, we don’t need to waste any time pointing out how terrible they are, we need to instead focus entirely on what we can accomplish together.

Everyone who is eligible needs to vote this time around, let’s all do our part to make it a landslide.

The fact that he took this chance to target a group of innocent immigrants again who have already been the target of death threats as a result of his lies, and then he had the audacity to tell them not to fact check him?

    He’s a monster and I can’t stand him.

Anyone wonder why Vance said Republicans aren’t trusted on women’s health? No guesses? Damn guess we’ll never know then

Vance laid themselves bare when he said the Republicans must do better. Uh, no kidding. Everything else he said was lies. Walz seemed like the neighborhood adult debating the slick fratboy that got caught in the heat. I made a another donation tonight for democracy.

He notably didn’t say they needed to do better for the American people or that they needed to have better policies.

He said they needed to do better to earn our trust. They don’t want to change what they’re doing; they just want to make us agree with it.

I think waltz went too easy on Vance. His answers felt generic and he didn’t keep Vance accountable for a lot of his lies. There were a couple of good gets like when he asked Vance if Trump lost the elections and Vance couldn’t answer, but I was definitely hoping for more

He’s definitely not as blunt as Kamala is. I agree he could have done more to call him out, but I also appreciate how he focused on his and Kamala’s plans for the next four years rather than trying to shit on his opponent as much as possible. Can’t say the same for Vance.
