    The rains have started here

I am still super tired, but laying in bed listening to the rain wrapped up on top of my electric blanket is actually really nice. Unfortunately I can’t enjoy it much, because there’s so many loud cars and motorbikes around these parts recently, and there’s too many helicopters and planes flying about

Also the rains have stopped now

Tried those Oreo coke biscuits. Not sure I want to taste coke when I eat a biscuit; and the aftertaste lingers. 2/10 from me.

I don’t have para social relationships with celebrities, I just really enjoy reading about their shenanigans and weirdness. They’re humans too, elevated on pedestals, and it’s interesting to see what humans do when they are so rich and famous.

This whole David Grohl cheating scandal is delicious. People who elevated him to the position of “one of the good ones” (alongside Keanu and Pierce Brosnan, maybe Jack Black too), are losing their minds that he not only cheated, but now has a baby on the way with the other woman.

People are taking bets on how old the other woman is, with the running theory she’s in her early-mid 20s.

It’s just so entertaining to me. No one is so good, or will always be so good, not will they always remain bad. They’re humans trying to navigate having their lives out in the open, with every minute action critised or admonished.

Anyway, I’m all here for the juicy drama. If I had to place a bet, I reckon the other woman is 25. David is 55, prime time for a midlife crisis and to try and wet his dick with someone younger.

I am so glad I’m not under the microscope. I wouldn’t survive a day. I was military. I’ve been on the dole!! I have tragedies. I have estranged family who would sell me out for pennies and anger. Oh noes, Mr Seagoon was in the military!! Etc etc etc

The press is totes into black and white thinking, everyone is either all good or all bad, there is no nuance.

I think they build up the pedestals just so they can topple them.

And all for ratings and sales.

If David wants and needs company that’s his business.

100% agree. It’s easy to judge people from a distance. Who knows what the reality is?

No one is perfect. And to pretend otherwise is misguided at best. We are all people, capable of the most and least noble actions.

Should we take a magnifying glass to anyone’s life, myself included, there would no doubt be plenty to deride them for.

All the sewing is finished. Don’t think I’ll drag out my machine for a while. I’ll take pics in the morning when the light is better. So much getting rid of stuff still happening. :) Been so busy haven’t really watched any tv , movies or news and worse, haven’t been posting here much but I do read everything you all write. 😘.

It’s comical to me that they held a weapons expo in Melbourne of all places, the protest capital of Australia.

They’re both called exhibition just for funsies. It’s at Jeff’s Shed, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre if we’re being formal.

But I’d stay at the Royal Exhibition Building and chill in the nice gardens, much better vibes.

Ooh I didn’t realise you were going

I stayed home cause I’m still feeling crook and really don’t have the energy, but I’ve been reading the ABC’s coverage, and it seems like it’s winding down now, but has split into 2 groups

From a bit over an hour ago:

Crowds outside the Land Forces expo have now shrunk to a few hundred from their initial thousands this morning.

ABC reporter Jess Longbottom is at the protest, and says demonstrators have mainly split into two groups — one in front of Crown Casino, and one on the north side of the Spencer St bridge.

      More recently:

ABC reporter Natalie Whiting is on the ground at the protest and says protestors on the Batman Park side of the bridge have largely pulled back.

“They have said they are assessing and recouping before deciding whether they will return this afternoon or wait until tomorrow,” Whiting says.

“There is still a group of protestors gathered on the other side of the river, closer to the convention centre.”

It was by Batman Park and outside the Crown. There wasn’t a huge group, despite the coppers spending $10,000,000 on blocking traffic for it.

The cops were absurdly violent to people who did show up though. Tear gas, someone got shot in the face with a rubber bullet, lots of shoving.

The Bunnings snags are not even snags IMO. I’m talking about a proper, European wurst type offering.

How dare you imply I would offer such low quality products to unsuspecting individuals.

Hehe, TIL I can hear NFC through my headphone cable

I had my headphones plugged into the cable from my PC, but was also using my phone when I started hearing a series of clicks and then a short high pitched squeak. Played around with airplane mode and eventually narrowed it down to the NFC. That’s pretty cool!

Now I’m tempted to go chuck some data on an NFC tag and see if I can hear the data 🤔

Probably a bad idea, could end up being super loud or something. Who knows. Anyway I’m bad at resisting bad ideas, will be back later with a status update

I did it! It wasn’t super loud, even on max volume. It’s super cool. Also TIL my NFC tags have a size of ~500 bytes

Today’s protests are hypocritical. Protesting violence with violence? Some of those interviewed seemed to think what they were doing was ok because they believe they have moral superiority and therefore assaulting people attending the expo is ok? Hmm where have I heard that before.

I have had two friends recently get into accidents where they were going through a roundabout and someone did not give way and slammed out into them - one on a bike and one in a car with family. I really think we are not ok out there, just go carefully and watch out.

Edit-all involved are now doing ok.

I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve nearly had accidents because as you’ve highlighted people don’t give way when they’re meant to.

I try and be extra careful going into one and also while going around inside.

I hope that the accidents occurs were not too serious.

I had two incidents near La Trobe uni on my bike at round abouts years ago. The two problems with them is people need to know how to use them, and they need to look
