I was living in Horsham when the power station blew up on a hot day in November. I was watching one of those mid Arvo money programs on tv (the millionaires chaser or whatever), then the power went out. Then there was a bang. Then there were sirens. Went outside, and there was a gigantic black plume directly in front of us (we were on the other side of town, but a small town and the lack of high-rises makes it easy to see such things). Then like 2 hours later we got a text message from powercor, saying the power is out. Was a bit of a “ya think???” Situation, but from memory they fixed it the next morning
Despite being directly the in projected storm path, we were spared the brunt of it.
Wind and rain for about 15 minutes and then some small hail.
Overall, not the worst we’ve had.
Cousins in Sunbury had it bad like 20 minutes before it hit us. I think we were on the edge of the clouds and they got the centre.
I was gonna say, not that bad out here either. Fair bit of lightning and thunder but no hail or anything. Apparently emerald copped it though.
Apart from the power going off for maybe half an hour, which was kinda fun tbh, it wasn’t as bad as we were expecting.

My gutter struggled inner east :( I am sick of ladders. At least the roof didn’t leak for once.
