They came out to install that gate thing yesterday, which took me by surprise. They did say it would be installed this week, but I didn’t believe them. But then it happened, so that’s cool I guess.

Unfortunately they didn’t install any electrics or motors for it, and it’s on a fairly steep hill, so it just opened itself every time I tried to close it. I was able to find some old bed slat thingies and wedge those between the gate and the fence. Looks ghetto AF, but it worked and provided some safety.

Unfortunately today they came out to try and install a motor, but they forgot a part or something so it doesn’t actually… Motor. Unfortunately in the process, they’ve put it on same chains and gears that can’t be moved when the motor is off. So now I can’t actually close it.

They’ll come to install it some stage next week, but it basically leaves me in the same position as I was 2 days ago over the weekend. And I can once again enjoy the constant baseline anxiety of old mate coming back again.

It has now been 39 days since I returned and had to deal with all of this garbage.

Edit: I should be fair to them. In 39 days they’ve purchased 1 security camera

Well that’s new. RACV motorcycle comprehensive insurance renewal came through. Monthly fee went down $8.

Today was meant to be a lecture catch up day but the day went by and I did fuck all. Woke up late and spent time with the dog. Dog spent the day yawning. Big mood. Went to work and felt anxious for some reason. Did a quiz. Now I am exhausted. Tomorrow, I shall redeem myself.

Unseasonal burst of warm weather is over. Resume standard winter operating procedures. In bed, electric blanket on, rainy weekend ahead.

Ugh, not liking the overcast (maybe rainy) conditions ahead. Everyone who did their laundry this week must be so relieved.

At least the temps don’t look so bad! More like Sydney temps. I think we’re safely past the 1C mornings and 11C maxes…? hopefully…

Some how I get wetter than the toddler in bathing, and I’m not the one going in the bath. How the heck does that work?

Purchased a bottle of Bearface Canadian whiskey…it’s not great.

On par with Aussie offerings and nowhere near the Scottish and Irish drams.

Mr Woof’s evening turndown service was extremely exuberant tonight, with most of my doona ending up on the floor. There’s nothing like having to make your bed before you can get in it.

Bad nightmare taking me right back to my teen years being screamed at by my mother over trivial things… The sense of fear and feeling trapped woke me right up :( not now, brain.
