Not showing up to vote should be an automatic forfeit, right?
Unfortunately that would wildly sway the balance of power because most congressmen only work 100 days per year. Which means only those who care about their constituents would get to pass laws, and that hardly seems fair, right? How would they even get the wildly unpopular laws passed at that point?

This is essentially why the Republicans always win. The Democrats are lining worthless losers. The Republicans, however, are cowards who will do literally anything for a minor victory.
