A recent post in c/main has sparked interest in finding a new sidebar banner for our instance. The current one is AI generated, and was chosen by our users from a bunch of other AI-generated submissions. It has been three years since then. Also, the mood toward AI has shifted. Maybe it’s time for something new, and human-made?

The more days pass with both a) your submission garnering the most upvotes and b) more submissions coming in with the same kind of copy/paste vibe, the funnier this post becomes.
I do genuinely like the diner lemming, for the record. The way they carved the fur flat against the front face of the counter was a nice touch. I do wish they’d chosen a higher resolution of the painting to match the lemming, but it’s honestly pretty good. It’s my pick
