All I can imagine witnessing their false faith is a rope around their necks and a spear through their hearts. I do wonder how much fury men like Charlemagne, Constantine, and Saint Louis IX of France would have if witnessed to their profligate successors.

Frankly it’s not even the evil that pisses me off the most it’s the sheer fucken hypocrisy of it all, they thump their Bible and act as if Christ would like them as they commit actions and deeds far worse than what any of what the characters of the Bible faced if not by brutality then certainly by sheer fucken scale. By the Allfather I fucken hate these cretins so much.

Fitting that call these men evil and as good christians cite men that: massacred pagans, persecuted pagans or led religious wars.

Respectable and good are two different things, the men I listed could be respected both in spite and because of their evils since they did their actions themselves. These modern shitheels would probably all piss themselves if forced to interact with the people they hurt without their fucking security.

Persecuting people, carrying out mass murders, creating oppressive laws, defending those who do. It’s all the same.

Not really least of all because the circumstances were quite different. Constantine for example mostly reorganized the empire and legalized Christianity, Charlemagne more or less started out dealing with Saxon raiders who had been raiding the Frankish matches for decades (There’s a reason he never went to Denmark but did go after the Avars in modern Hungary), and Saint Louis of France was just kinda a good ruler and cracked down on the excesses of the estates.

Point is there is a clear difference between those ancient Christian rulers and their modern counter parts, hell one of Charlemagnes greatest achievements was laying the groundwork for literacy to raise quite a bit over a couple hundred years, kinda doubt any of these ghouls would do that with a gun to their heads.

Constantine for example mostly reorganized the empire and legalized Christianity

Ok fair. But even at the time, it wasn’t a secret that christianity was extremely intolerant. Constantine legalized what both today and back then would be recognized as an extremely intolerant religion.

Charlemagne’s treatment of Saxons was considered controversial and heavy handed, even at his own time. Also, the Carolingian renaissance is considered very distinct from the renaissance of the 1200s. The crusades are one of the very few events that even the Vatican has gone out to directly state was a bad and harmful idea.

Edit: what’s even the point of mentioning the reforms of either the last two??? It’s not like it excuses their crimes.

Christianity in many ways invented the concept of exclusion and religious intolerance. That simply didn’t exist in the ancient world. Bart D. Ehrman even cites it as the main reason christianity prevailed in the Roman empire.

I brought them up because my original comparison was between these modern ghoulish profligates and their ancient counterparts. I am very aware of the crimes of those I listed hell if I had the misfortune of somehow interacting with them the only one I wouldn’t kill out the gate would be Constantine, but for all their wrongs they still did good. Constantine held the Romans together and reformed the empire, Charlemagne set much of Europe down the road to recovery from western Romes collapse, and Saint Louis reformed the estates and arguably set france to become what it is today but these modern Bible thumpers have nothing but the cruelty.

I chose my monsters due to their contrast, if I wanted people I truly think were irredeemable I wouldve gone for the Spanish empire, the Teutonic Order, and fucking Belgium. All of whom spread the love and mercy of Jesus Christ all for power and gold.

Also I just realized my initial list gets increasingly French eugh.

They’re praying to Moloch, a biblical deity associated with child sacrifice.

Honestly, I’m not even sure if I’m joking.

Not all of them. Some of them (us, I’m Christian myself) do, others listen to Jesus who said:

and when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. (Matthew 6:5)

I pray in public all the time. Nobody ever saw me do it, outside of services in churches or in the privacy of Christians’ homes. These guys don’t pray, they show off.

You have a point, but how do you know they are showing off?

It’s possible the media just happened to capture them in the act.

They’re professional politicians, they know these things, don’t be candid. But even if it wasn’t the case, it would still be showing off, but for their colleagues. A way to posture righteousness just before doing evil things. They make people hate Christ while it’s Mammon they serve.

Ask non-Christian people what is the Church about. They’ll answer that Christianity means hate of homosexuals, submission of women, fight against reproductive rights, rejection of science and rational thought, and I could go on… None of this is biblical. Abortion is not evoked even once. Women are regularly put in position of power compared to their “normal” position in the societies of these times from Deborah who was describe as an head of state to the powerful women of the Acts). Wisdom — the equivalent of “rational thought” then — is highly praised. Homosexuality (when defined as respectful love between consenting adults) is alluded only once, and it’s a positive allusion.

But these guys, they’ll cherrypick, deform, read uncontextually to make the Bible a book of hate. They’ll invent a doctrine of biblical inerrancy to make every verse count as much as all others, while the Bible warn against that, and drown the actual central message in details. They’re hypocrites who fight everything Christ said: love, love unconditionally, help the poor, fight peacefully oppression. They are highly regarded by society as they do that, but received their reward in full already.

And meanwhile Christ is more and more rejected because of people like them. That’s why I said that they must put Christ’s name on their lips, but it’s Mammon they’re praying.

Actually, I remember the instructions for inducing a miscarriage (abortion) were laid out in the old testament. Part of it involved scraping up and ingesting shit from the temple floor.

Their entire political platform is ostentatious christ-baiting and lip-service. Everything they do is for show. These are not true believers in christ, they are charlatans.

“False prophets are people who claim to speak for God or share divine truth, but instead spread lies for personal gain, pride, or evil purposes. The Bible warns that they look harmless on the outside—like sheep—but act with harmful intent. Opinions are mixed on whether they are completely evil or just deeply confused, but traditional theology views their deception as spiritually destructive.”

Why can’t politicians who claim to be anti-fascist or progressive stop posting on the Nazi platform owned by one of the most apalling figures of wealth in history?

There are other ways to psst a picture.

And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Nothing like warshiping a god who will forgive you for anything to make you ok with being a POS, this is the exact reason I don’t follow Christianity. Cuz it encourages this behavior.
