Of course they did. Now that the puppet government is in place willing to play ball while selling out the Venezuelan people…

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. The Venezuelan government has objectively transformed into a puppet government doing the bidding of US and Israel.

      Probably cope.

Probably because tankies don’t want to admit that the Venezuelan people are celebrating the fact that Maduro was taken out of power…

If you need proof go look at the protests! So many white people, no Venezuelans!

Folks protested the unwarranted and unwanted overthrow of a sovereign country’s leader. Why are you making such claims? In Lemmygrad, no less.

Of course a lib decided to speak for other people. It’s their MO.

Apparently cultural Americans not participating in protests means Venezuelans inside Venezuela love their sovereignty and autonomy getting stepped on by the Epstein administration.

            What a joke.

This is the kind of bullshit you say when you confuse Venezuelan diaspora for the Venezuelan people. Of course westernized libs love Maduro getting kidnapped by the Epstein government. That proves literally nothing. Those gringos don’t speak for Venezuelans inside Venezuela.

Probably because it’s a gross oversimplification of events to dismiss them as a puppet government and present them as wholly separate from the Venezuelan people.

To paraphrase pop culture, since some people tend to like that: the Venezuelan government is in danger, they are not the danger. The danger is the imperialists who want to worm their way in and destroy the Bolivarian Revolution.

Anyway, there are people pushing back locally: https://lemmygrad.ml/post/12488389

But who cares what they’re doing, right? What matters is condemning.

Whether it’s a puppet government with a gun to their head or a puppet government out of sheer will, it’s still a puppet government.

Erasing nuance and reducing everything to binaries is what liberals do. We have to hold ourselves to a more scientific, dialectical standard.

My response may have been vague but it’s the truth! That’s why Maduro was kidnapped and why the actual president that won the election was not put in his place like she should have been (because she won the fucking election!). If the US really gave a fuck about the Venezuelan people Maduro’s cronies wouldn’t be in power right now… Machado would be… Well that and because Trump was jealous of her Nobel Peace prize because he’s petty as fuck…

I spoke with multiple Venezuelan friends and family (by marriage) about their happiness of Maduro being taken rejoicing for a true president instead of a dictator… I was the one telling them to be cautious explaining they need to look at the history of Iraq before celebrating!

Anyway, I may have been vague but I know more about Venezuelan politics than most since I have been married to a Venezuelan for 8 years and have worked very hard to sponsor and transport the majority of her family and friends to the United States or another safe country.

None of this is good for the Venezuelan people! They will see nothing from the oil that the US will take… Instead, they will still continue to suffer while they are ignored by their government and the US.

There you go, was that a better explanation of what’s happening?

Machado is an obvious US puppet that was hoping to take control on behalf of the US, what are you talking about. Maduro is the legitimately elected leader of Venezuela and was kidnapped. Being married to diaspora who praise the US and hate on their own country doesn’t make you more informed, it makes you less informed. Those people speak in self-hating poison and bank on western liberals believing them because not only do they validate the given imperial core country as good (which pleases the western liberal and massages their sense of self), they also make the western liberal look like a more charitable and virtuous person. “Look, I am making friends with the minority, welcoming them in, helping them. See? I am not the Hitlerite colonizer, I am the good liberal.”

But it’s a lot like when somebody says “some of my closest friends are [x “race”/ethnicity]”. People like to behave as if this gives them license to treat “the ones they know” as these sort of unofficial representatives of everyone belonging to that group. It’s not quite what people usually think of when they talk about “racism”, but in practice, it’s not so different from it. By treating the minority friend/partner/etc. as the unofficial representative, this quietly erases the voices of everyone else who belongs to that group. They become, to the western liberal, a group who is largely silent and invisible, save for when the self-hating minority sidles up to them and says “what a beautiful country you have here and what a terrible place I have back home, won’t you let me stay?” “Why of course,” says the good, charitable liberal. “Now I don’t have to listen to the voices in your group that spit on me and my society. See, it isn’t my resistance to examining the cultural conscience of where I live that is the problem, it’s the people where you live that is the problem and that’s you saying it, not me. I am absolved of the blame for refusing to admit there is something wrong with my society.”
