Same shit a lot of places do, calling people who do the final stage of delivery contractors instead of employees so they can get away with paying them less and not providing benefits, and if they get in an accident delivering it’s on them not the company.
Amazon and other companies argue that if they had to actually claim those employees who only deliver their packages all day as their employees and give them benefits and deal with any insurance issues due to collisions they would have to charge customers more.
Because while they make insane amounts of profit, they will never put that at risk and will instead just pass all costs to the consumers. Because they are soulless parasites who sustain themselves by sucking all money and life force from everyone they can.
