First: no context. Is this the Moroccan army taking migrants to Ceuta, or did they intercept a truck with migrants and force them to unload before they reached the border? Spain and Morocco have generally pretty decent relations regarding migrants, especially since Morocco helped get the vast, vast majority of the migrants back to Morocco as well. We also see migrants cross by swimming or boats; this doesn’t appear to be close to the coast.
Second, no reputable outlet of any kind seems to be reporting on this, probably meaning it’s hard or impossible to verify what is actually happening here.
Third, there’s no actual proof of Israeli involvement. The most “proof” I’ve seen is a 7 year old tweet from Netanyahu’s son.
And fourth, there’s pretty rampant antisemitism under those tweets. And I’m not talking about the “anti-zionism = antisemitism” kind, genuine antisemitism (e.g. showing caricatures of “evil Jews”, generally blaming Jewish people rather than Israelis/zionists, etc…).
And fifth: the “optics” are playing into the right’s hand. Spain “besieged by migrants sent by Israel” is the narrative now, and the right only has to disagree with the “sent by Israel” part which makes it seem like “the siege” is an established, universally agreed upon crisis. Yet Spain successfully sent these migrants back, plus to get to Spain proper they need to cross the strait on a boat with passport checks, meaning that crossing into Ceuta like this is pretty pointless because you can’t get to the mainland from there (and also why many migrants are returning). So the whole “besieged” narrative is a bit overblown. Sure, there’s a problem with these people trying to get into Ceuta (and Melilla), but it’s not like they’re going to flood Europe from here, that’s just a right-wing panic narrative.
Don’t get me wrong, zionists are scum and Israel needs to stop their genocide. But that doesn’t make something like this a “Jewish conspiracy”.
