Are you in the wrong community or did you honestly just realize gaming companies make them that way on purpose?
i mean theyre basically ports because sony is terrible with backwards compatibility, to the point their competitor has to be the one that does it.

sony would be responsible for properly developing backwards compatibility, which ends up porting other games in the process of doing so.
Do you think when xbox did Xbox/Xbox 360 BC, they only did 1st party games?
when Nintendo did the long manual test to test Switch 1 BC with the Switch 2, do you think Nintendo only tested 1st party games? (and im not saying nintendos great either, but the point is implementing BC doesn’t mean focusing only on your own games)
And a shitload of people still bought it, even after the discless, digital-only fiasco.
