I’ve had NZ Galas here and the quality is crap compared to back home. We get shafted with fresh produce here so badly. The good shit gets exported.

When it comes to produce, the best stuff gets shipped to China for a fucking premium. Then other places. We get fifth best a lot of the time. Apples especially. I had some top grade apples, Galas, that were going to Japan. It’s a different fruit.
Growing up in Canada (and working in produce at a grocery store) we would get galas from NZ for half the year.
