    Most plants that I currently have can tolerate a lot. My apartment is suboptimal in terms of sunlight and I don’t keep track of them that often, and they are doing fine still. Maybe not thriving per say, but definitely alive and growing still.

    Plants don’t naturally do that. We fuck with them a lot even when we farm native plants outside, just by planting them in constellations convenient for us, removing undergrowth, and irrigating them. When you consider how much more we essentially handicap potted, nonnative, and genetically modified (including things like sweet corn) plants, they can actually withstand a lot being wrong.
