I guess they’re running g out of places to pirate training data and they’re desperate because their models aren’t particularly competitive.

25 years ago our email was screened for keywords and manually reviewed if they registered a hit. Nothingburger.

Capturing employee email and browsing history has been a standard practice for about 25 years.
It’s kind of true. People just unaware.
I’m a dev and they did that at least 10 years ago at my work. Stupid as hell.Just not for ai training. More for it power trip and management illusions of productivity.
It is completely true. In the US you should never have any expectations of privacy when using a company computer.
It is also done for the prevention of introduction of malware and other IT security reasons, there are legal and regulatory reasons that companies have to do that and there is also protection of intellectual property and reputation concerns.
This seems so obvious the biggest shock is that someone thought it to be newsworthy.
