Evolution: “You’re gonna need all the energy you need for the arduous cycle of raising-and-feeding children, so your bodies are going to be super calorie efficient.”

Women today: “JESUS FUCK WHY CAN’T I LOSE WEIGHT”

I’m always reminded of a NASA study wherein numerous high-performing, athletic men and women were tested doing tasks requiring equal output of energy and force, and there were women who still burned as few as half or less the calories of the men, despite doing the exact same tasks.

In the past it was useful, food was scarce and being calorie efficient was beneficial. Just in the modern day with industrial scale food production, it has become detrimental.

The difference usually comes down to different body composition and mass. Men on average are bigger, heavier and have more muscle mass. It takes more energy to move it around and even at rest it burns more energy. That can all add up to massive differences.

My cutting calories(weight loss) is petite womens bulk(weight gain). Like even using the most basic TDEE calculators, with questuonable accuracy and just switching from male to female already gives a 300 cal budget difference. That’s a small Snickers bar or half an hour of zone 2 cardio.
