Tennessee is a particularly barbarous place, in an already barbarous country.
How bad is it?
Half of my friends here on the west coast are cultural refugees from TN. Like North Carolina and Texas, it’s a state with plenty of wealth and opportunities for the privileged where those privileged wealthy willingly choose resentment, persecution, marginalization, oppression, and systemic hypocrisy as their ideologies of choice.
That’s a pretty apt description of the Midwest in general for sure.
