Regardless, Rockhill is based, I’ve listened to and watched every interview with him and would never think he doesn’t put in the work and research.

I was probably thinking about Losurdo’s Stalin biography when I wrote that.
I imagine that propaganda against China collapsing is a big factor. For the longest time there was a successful campaign to convince the western left that China betrayed Marxism. But now it’s becoming clear that was never the case, and that’s getting a lot of people to rethink things.

If .world & .works, as well as CCC members I know online (not huai) are indicative, they’re still convinced China is “state capitalist AuThOrItArIaN”. I try to remain optimistic, but NGL, Western (especially US) “leftists” are really something. Although a few are beginning to get a clue.
People aren’t going to change their views overnight, and we have to be patient. The best thing to do right now is to continue to educate people and help build awareness. I also think that a lot of the discussion has really been just LARPing. Nobody really thought that western system would be going anywhere, and so there wasn’t really any connection to anything practical. But now we’re starting to see the western order unravel at an increasingly rapid pace and there is a question of what comes after.
