Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said developers’ productivity is going through the roof — while being overseen by a nagging, micromanaging AI boss.

Huang still desperately fighting for that hotly contested ‘World’s Most Punchable Face’ title.

I’m glad that I only have a few years of my professional life left to go. This stopped being fun for quite a few years already.

Same. Unfortunately for me, I think I’m just barely far enough away from retirement that I will probably have to upskill and start using more of this bullshit to become proficient. Development hasn’t been fun for a while and it’s quickly getting worse.

If your retirement is based on the stock market which is currently inflated by ai fervor and over dependent on it for growth and performance be it pensions or 401ks well that could be a problem for you!

While I’m not in the US, of course government pension funds are also investing in such instruments. With the coming GFCv2 most of work positions will disappear nevermind for people past their retirement age.

Oh hey, they’ve found a task AI can do where it doesn’t matter that it hallucinates and doesn’t understand what it’s talking about.

Can’t detect any sensationalism or pandering here, no sir. All that’s missing is a fat [AI=BAD] flair

What a weird title. I tried to read it again and again but all I could decipher was “Moronic CEO tells me to never buy another Nvidia product again!”
Brb, I’ll give it another go.

Nope, I keep on getting the same thing. Oh well, so long Nvidia and thanks for…nothing!

    That actually makes sense.

So they learned they can’t replace the workers that actually do the profit-generating labour for businesses, but they can replace middle management with AI.

My boss actually does shit. We do work with a project manager that could easily be replaced with AI though.

My group at work recently started an AI team, to brainstorm ways AI could be used. We mostly do physical work in data centers. The remote hands folks. The answer is, basically nothing.

But I am not on the team, my buddy was, he asked me for some ideas because he had none. I suggested maybe something with the time tracker system we use.

Both of us agreed no, because it would just lead to people getting let go for stupid reasons and nagging from management.

So? The job is to show up and do what AI tells you for 8 hours. Seems easier than doing it ourselves.
