Looks like Yarrabyte has gone missing in action again. I think they may have a secret life or maybe a second job or something. Or just slept in.

Most of my managers and coworkers are away and I’ve been working all my days off & weekend. I am going to make some new corporate T-shirts with my own logo and see how long it takes people to notice.

Any suggestions? I’m in the water industry, so maybe “Wetwork”?

Neighbours are playing “we are early birds and think 6am is a reasonable time to fire up power tools”. Dangerous game to play next to a woman who thinks midnight is an early bedtime and likes metal.

Especially since His Lordship is in KL right now so there is literally no stopping me

Mine are fixing up their house to lease / sell, and were using a bandsaw last Sunday after 10pm. I thought of taking revenge early next morning with a guitar and amp (I can’t play guitar), but restrained myself. Bloody rude!

Woke up to early pakidge on my day off, so i can set everything up and play around with it today.

My numpad arrived and it’s bigger than i expected. A different type of clicky to my keyboard but it feels good. It looks like a futuristic phone from the 80s.

I'm calling you from the future:

Soo, listening to the audio books and interviews about the brit royal fam

they have the sociopath genes in the family and unfortunately the circumstances means that kids born with that tendency are indulged, like edward 8 and andrew and they become appalling criminal adults

and then the behaviours become so bad that they can’t be ignored and public drama ensues

the other thing is that the royals are living in the past, thinking that they are somehow special and that others think they are special

they just don’t seem to understand the people that surround them are employees who have their own lives , they are employees, not serfs and not their friends

Diana is only a few weeks older than me , she really needed a good friend, someone older, but then she rejected all good advice on how to cope with her life 🤷‍♀️ she did not seems to get wise, just more cunning, not the great parent that she is deemed to be, good parents don’t include kids in their drama

security seems a bit extreme but then I suppose when your position in inherited, not elected, threats/violence is the only option for change

people forget that the royals and aristocracy collect taxes from their duchies, so people pay council taxes and a portion of that goes to the royals fir no reason other than they are born to it, it’s unacceptable, this is how they are so rich

bring on the republic, elections are soo good, it means change is easy and without drama

Got some diffs of opinion on this - not trolling - just giving my opinion for what it’s worth.

      rant

“bring on the republic, elections are soo good, it means change is easy and without drama” - please tell that to Mr Trump

“Diana is only a few weeks older than me , she really needed a good friend, someone older, but then she rejected all good advice on how to cope with her life 🤷‍♀️ she did not seems to get wise, just more cunning, not the great parent that she is deemed to be, good parents don’t include kids in their drama” -

Imo she was far too young for the role, and was a victim of poor parenting herself. I agree that she made some VERY poor choices but imo she was fundamentally as thick as two short planks. An intelligent person would have run a mile from the whole Prince Charles thing. And a lot of girls did - including Camilla.

“they have the sociopath genes in the family and unfortunately the circumstances means that kids born with that tendency are indulged, like edward 8 and andrew and they become appalling criminal adults - and then the behaviours become so bad that they can’t be ignored and public drama ensues” -

I don’t actually believe in sociopath genes - imo sociopathic behaviour is more to do with parenting and modelling from caregivers. Both the examples you give were raised by nannies - as was King Charles - and those nannies were more or less abusive. Particularly in the case of Ed8 - he was a profoundly damaged human being - bordering on mental illness - and had been from childhood. There was also a large contingent of the aristocracy who all shared a similar remote parenting regime - nannies etc. so the royals were not particularly unique. They were just more visible. And there were a LOT of people who cheered them on in their bad behaviour for a lot of different motives.

I do consider that the British royals have a fundamental streak of plain ordinary stupidity - you can see this from the Stuarts onwards, that is exacerbated by mostly remote parenting and unrealistic expectations from various governments/the general public. Small wonder that so many decided to resign from being reasonable human beings.

I’m just glad they’ve largely lost all their political power - just figureheads now and that’s how it should be. An expensive luxury but one that quite a lot of people can’t do without it seems. And they’re good for tourism.

elections are so powerful the gop have worked for decades to subvert them

        I think it’s nature *and * nurture

yes, I think Di was not very smart

people would go see the Tower and the Jewels even if there weren’t a royal fam

the bastards still collect taxes from duchies

Right. 2 interviews next week. On is a “if we like you no 3 stages bullshit” the other is 3 stages bullshit lol

Putting out roughly 20 applications a day. I reckon the one and done is a good chance and I actually want the job. The other would be a stop gap.

The new bone conduction headphones are nice. The old ones had touch controls so i had to layer them over my helmet or the strap would pause what I was listening to. Can’t beat physical buttons

I just bought the same ones as SaneMartigan and they’ve been good. My other pair are Lenovo and have been fine aside from my use case of wearing them with a helmet.

Things are pretty good on Aliexpress, just don’t go for anything that looks too good to be true and check a couple of listings to get a sense of pricing

I’ve never bought a pair of Shokz and I’m not sure what the difference between them would be. It’s not like normal headphones where I can see how more expensive ones would be better

Aside from that they broke a bit, my shokz are a better build quality, I can wear them in the shower (IP68) and the battery lasts longer but as I just said to lowXP, the price difference ends the debate for me.

Sleep screamed again last night. Second night in a row. I think it has to do with sleep deprivation. Last night, I slept for five hours but I did stay up late to do an assignment and woke up early for work. I didn’t even procrastinate that one so much. I reckon once I work on my time management, the sleep will be better too. I have broken down all of my assignments using a planner and have specific time frames to do each step!

If you have a smart watch, check how much deep sleep you are getting. It should be between 1.5 to 2 hours every night. Not saying that’s the problem but that’s what you should aim for, for a restful sleep.

That’s not too bad but I think you could benefit with more. Now look at your REM. You also need between 1.5 to 2 hours. Both are important.

If the screaming is happening with in the first few hours of sleep it’s probably deep sleep related. If it’s happening more towards the morning then it could be REM related.

Overstimulation during the day, both physical or mental, could also give you sleep problems.

REM sleep this week has been just over an hour. The only time I’ve woken up after screaming was approx 1.5 hours after I last looked at the time. I thought this was REM related. But I think the silver lining in all of this is that I get to revise sleep stuff, which will be helpful for my teaching :D

Thank you for your wisdom! I do wonder if you’ve worked in some kind of health related field or if it’s just a general interest thing.

                  Nah. Sleep studies interest me.

My daughter used to have night terrors as a wee one. I knew exactly when and at what time they would happen.
