2024 report, nothing burger
Oh god, I hope this isn’t the end of the ports. I was looking forward to playing Ghost of Yotei in like 4 years. Maybe they should look into the gap between releases for why PC ports presumably aren’t selling well…
or maybe their pricing is obscene compared to the rest of the pc gaming market
Some, yes, but I’ve got a couple for what I’d expect to pay on Steam sale
They have the numbers, if they don’t have good enough sales, Sony wouldn’t speed up those ports and their release schedule.
True but unless I’m missing something, they’ve only got numbers for old games because they wait so long. There’s obviously going to be much less interest in paying full price for a game that came out years ago. They’re pricing themselves out of the market due to wanting to enforce an archaic concept such as platform exclusivity.
They have like team of people specialized in pricing a game, so whatever we feel is too high, too low, too fast or too slow is irrelevant. All we players can do is wait until the price feels right for you or when the update/support for pc features is justified. (say, I only buy with proper ultrawide support and unlocked fps. )
It’s not irrelevant if their sales figures aren’t where they want them to be, it proves they’re wrong about something one way or another.
I am saying it’s irrelevant how we feel about it, how we think they should adjust, etc. They adjust by sheer numbers only, look at PS Plus pricing and tiers. I cancelled my sub and haven’t care about it, many people that are vocal also did. But yet their number is good enough so they stick with that increase.
If their games arrive years late, cost more than 60 bucks, are buggy and unoptimized and require a PSN account to play them on Steam they can burn them for all I care.
