Morning from Canada! We’ve been married for 12 years now. I’m 31.
Who’s the better cook?
Me.
What’s your best/favorite “not easy to make” meal?
Beef Wellington.
Do you like putting mushrooms in your Beef Wellington?
Yes. Portobello, shiitake, button.
Did you recently invite your relatives to have some and send your kids to the movies?
Wow, Dude lucked out!
How’d you meet?
His age?
Reactions from friends & fam, each side?We met at the gym. 24. My friends and family thought I’d gone insane. His were just like, whatever, cool and happy for you, I guess.
Cool.
Ummm… Your OP said you’re 31 now, which would’ve made you 19 - and barely legal - at the time of marriage.
Yeah, I was 19 at the time.
So did the 24-36 in your reply above refer to your husband?
How’d you meet?
His age?
Reactions from friends & fam, each side? That’s the comment they were replying to.
Yeah, I edited my comment the same time you were replying. Thanks for pointing it out, tho.
Yes, the person asked: “his age”.
Yeah, I edited my comment the same time you were replying. Missed it. Thanks for letting me know, tho.
Was there something in particular that made you “just know,” or did it still require a bunch of things that clicked (and if so, how did you cover all them so quickly)?
Also, did you marry immediately upon deciding to, or did you two decide to tie the knot even earlier than two weeks?
We had crazy chemistry and the sex was fire. We wanted to be together 24/7 from basically the first day. We quite literally woke up that morning and I said let’s get married. He said fuck yeah let’s do it.
Was there anything about him that was just annoying enough to give you pause - even for just a moment - about marrying him?
Honestly, no.
What type of ceremony did you have?
We walked into city hall, got the marriage licence in 30 min, found an officiant available that same day, called 2 of my husband’s friends over as witnesses, did a quick civil ceremony, and done.
Why?
I woke up in that mood that morning.
I love it. It’s what I’d love to do as well.
So many of my friends lost a lot of money doing an event they hated setting up and couldn’t wait to be over. (although if big weddings are your thing then that’s fine too)
Yeah, we never had any sort of fancy formal wedding. Didn’t feel the need to.
Are one or both of your families wealthy?
How often do both of your families pester you about when you’re having kids? 😁
They don’t cause we have 2 already. Our first was born in 2014 - we met and go married the previous year… second one in 2016. It was quite fast forward…
how do you deal with stress?
What was your state of mind then and now, more of?:
- “we are certain we’ll love each other until death do us apart”
- “maybe this is crazy, and we’ll divorce in the future, but no need to think about it now, let’s live our love as intensively as possible while we can”
- Other:
My mindset was basically: I just wanna do this with you, now. It feels right. There really wasn’t much thinking involved. “You only regret the things you didn’t do!” was my philosophy back then. In hindsight I was just a bit psycho to be honest.
Since you said he’s so chill, sounds like he was a good match to balance you out. Congrats!
Do you like visiting the US?
No.
Do you have a go to tim hortons’ order?
Iced Strawberry Watermelon Quencher with vanilla syrup and cold foam on top (light ice if possible), Croissant breakfast sandwich with bacon and egg, Strawberry dip donut or vanilla cream-filled (whichever looks cuter lol), and a 5-pack of Timbits with birthday cake, strawberry, and glazed if they have them!
Yeeeeezs you know what you want
Do you remember what Lisa Maffia told you in 2003?
Asking the real question
Who is more chill between the both of you?
Definitely him.
If you and your husband were running from a bear, who would get away and would there be any tripping involved?
He would, cause he’s stronger and faster than me. He wouldn’t trip. I probably would.
I’m not so sure they meant the “falling” variety of “tripping”… 🤪
😉
Are you the same age, if not how many years separate the two of you?
