I bet this is just a PR campaign to control the narrative so it doesn’t look like Cadillac hires a chump and steer away the headlines, when he gets the contract, away from his poor performance. Like why does he open his mouth now?
If they haven’t ever protected drivers, why would the change for Sergio? He knew what he was getting into.
And they kept him around even when his results were consistently terrible. If that’s not protecting the driver, then what it is? Sergio hasn’t gotten the message on how F1 works these days, either you are at top performance or you are gone.
