Assembling a 1500 € phone should cost about the same as a 600 € phone. A more expensive phone also gives a bigger margin to work with to pay for all the extra labor and other „fair“ costs.
Then a Fairphone could become a status symbol as well.
The usage of LTPO will mean more efficient battery usage. Props for being fair. Although could have a higher ram model for future proofing.

For their mission statement this is acceptable. You can’t easily do things like fairphone without also charging a premium for that.
If they start exploiting labour like chinese OEMs they could offer similar or cheap phones like them with better specs.
