a lot of people here in the united states find it attractive to have a foreign accent (although depending on what it is they could hate it too). what about your country?

does it depend? what accents don’t they like if it depends?

I can’t speak for others but I go through phases of enjoying the sound of different accents. I’m currently loving Indian.

Not many accents I don’t like.

Love Russian, French, Turkish, French Canadian, Bosnian, Japanese, kiwi, Spanish, Taiwanese. Many more.

However… That full Australian nasal is just too much to bear. I’m Australian by the way.

I was in Turkey this week and an Aussie lady screached “TONY! TONY!!! THERE’S A SEAT UP HERE!!!” on a tour bus.

Half of the bus turned around in horror, to try and understand what just happened, and where that bizarre and horrible sound had come from.

I know that people in English speaking countries tend to like German accents, can’t really imagine why, though.

Over here in Germany people seem to like British accents I guess. God forbid you’ve got an eastern European or even just an east German accent, though, there’s a ton of people with prejudice against that.

If you have a British or American accent, people will find it cute. If you have an eastern European or middle Eastern accent, not so much.
