I watched this teardown the other day. When the first tool to reach for is a heat gun… bloody hell.
Such a shame but hardly a surprise. I love the Switch Pro controller and use it for PC games a lot. I think it’s probably my favorite one ever made even with it’s lousy sticks. It’s also easy to disassemble so you can clean it, replace the battery or simply replace the shell.
Sadly the Switch 2 pro controller isn’t only a gluey mess, it also has a much cheaper feeling to it. The surface on the plastic simply does not rest well in the hands and I bet scratches will look horrible too. It’s baffling because the old Pro controller is phenomenal in that regard. Nintendo kind of fumbled on that one in my opinion.
Yeah, I thin the first Switch will be the last console I’ll ever own. Except for big IP titles, most games are available on PC as well. And are often better, with more effects and higher refresh rates. And with devices like the Lenovo Legion Go, they blow even the Switch 2 out of the water. And you also control the software on it. They can’t be bricked by the manufacturer for modifying the software either. And you can use any other controller you want.
Nintendo is in big trouble.
Nintendo just sold 3.5 million Switch 2s in about four days.
I think they’ll survive.
Yeah, these PC handhelds are great for us enthusiast geeks but they will never have the same allure as a Nintendo handheld with Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, Kart, and Smash to mainstream users. Nintendo’s exclusive games do have a huge pull. Switch 2 will eclipse the Steam Deck sales in mere weeks which I’m sure comes as little surprise to Valve.
Will be interesting to see how the new Xbox backed device sells since it should have more marketing muscle and the Xbox name behind it and actually be sold in common retail stores.
You say that and then they drop the next mainline title and they make record profit. Hell the last Pokemon game sold more copies than almost any other previous game and it looks like somebody took a fan game built on the PS2, slapped the new logo on it and called it good
I had checked out of Pokémon, like my 2nd favorite series, after black/white 2.
Legends made me excited enough to try, thinking game freak was making modernization changes and improvements on the series, only to feel betrayed by the unfinished mess i purchased.
I don’t think I will ever buy another Nintendo game again after that, besides getting old releases bought used.
Musk you slippery son of a bitch
I think you posted in the wrong thread maybe?
oh, no
playfully joking that musk is with Nintendo, but yeah
