I think its a play on the phrase “history doesn’t repeat itself, but it rhymes”.
Israel has now invaded or otherwise attacked Iran, Lebanon, and Syria in addition to the ongoing genocide in Gaza and ongoing settler colonialism in the West Bank.
I hadnt heard that before but thats a dumb saying. Thats not what rhyming means and history is literally repeating itself. If anything id say “history doesnt repeat itself verbatim but it says the same thing with different synonyms”. Not as punchy i guess but the words ‘door’ and ‘floor’ rhyme and their meanings are completely different whereas the meaning and intention behind these actions are the same thing just with different perpetrators/excuses.
It doesn’t literally rhyme, but it’s a decent metaphor. Much more pithy and it gets the point across.
Really hoping the people in the middle east will be able to access aid the coming weeks/months/years, feels like a rhyming shit show is about to unfold there
It would be lovely, but I don’t think the Israeli apartheid regime is anywhere close to being on its last legs. Maybe Netanyahu is, at least.
