He commented on my photo via private message on Instagram, I didn’t feel I did something wrong but when reading the messages I can’t help but feel a bit guilty. I showed to my husband who said this is strike 1 so he will see how it develops but he is more worried if my sister gets to see this that she will simply quit my brother in law. What shall I do?

    I usually like to try to offer even-handed advice, but in this case I’d block him and send screencaps of this convo to his wife.

    It’s clear he has no intention of stopping - your attempt to establish some boundaries was minimised and laughed away, so unless you’re willing to not rock the boat and risk him continuing to do this regularly and causing you this discomfort every time, I’d say this is a “putting my foot down” moment.

    I’m sorry you’re going through this, it’s uncomfortable to read even as a random stranger…
