Why are so many companies updating their privacy policy lately, I noticed many companies including reddit and some games I play updating their privacy policies? Why is that, is it just a coincidence or something big happened?
Mostly so that they can sell your data on to third parties, or use your data to train AI of their own.
Also adding arbitration clauses to stop you from suing.
Didn’t we have some corpo get slammed with a bunch of these and then they went to a federal judge and had them over turn their own Arbitration clause?
These parasites always win
Damn ,the world keeps getting worse, but why all at once was there a recent legal thing that made them go for it?
EU digital markets act has a lot to do with it and privacy laws that went along with it.
I see thank you!
Half my emails are this at this point.
Yep it was very odd
Others mentioned A.I and data-collection however, you also have to think about all the different laws around the world, if a new law conflicts with their TOS they gotta update it to stay compliant.
