Why is this getting downvotes?
My link opened automatically in reader mode and it was a shit article - 3 paragraphs and clearly from the initial news release with zero details about anything.
I could see people reading that lack of any information and just downvote without putting in the effort to open it in a full browser.
I live in Boulder, it is a shit article. Here’s what happened.

Jewish people march on the Pearl Street Mall every week in support of the hostages in Gaza. They’re very peaceful about it. There are plenty among them who condemn the Gaza genocide, but that’s not what their event is about. They’re mostly older and our local old white people tend to be pretty progressive, but also privileged, out of touch and clueless (and rich and ultimately neoliberal when push comes to shove).

A dude who’s first name is Mohammad but who looks pretty white hit them with a homemade flamethrower and threw a Molotov cocktail at them. Thankfully no one died (yet), some people are pretty badly burned. No one’s said anything about his motivations other than “anti-semetic” and “pro-Hammas.”
And that might be it.

But also, I’ve learned this since getting involved in local protest and mutual aid orgs this year, we have a ton of ethnic Palastinians in the Denver metro area and they’re pretty politically active and radicalized (I cannot blame them). This has been a divisive issue in our local protest orgs. Everyone’s anti-genocide, but even the ultra liberal Jewish folks are sensitive about it. Meanwhile there are ethic Palastinian folks but also antifa folks in general who are like “We’re NOT antisemetic. We don’t hate you 'cuz we’re Jewish, but if you support the STATE of Israel in any way, we are at fucking war with you, not because you’re Jewish, but because you’re supporting genocide, we don’t CARE why, there’s no excuse, the purpose of war is to destroy your enemies, we’re not gonna be silenced, sorry not sorry.” I’ve heard people say some extreme things, though usually not publicly and usually not first hand… it just become he said / she said / that lady who brings falafels to the meet up’s grandson said some scary shit the other day." When I heard what had happened, that element was the first thing I thought of and I was like “Oh shit guys, please be better than this!”

And, we also have a bunch of weird homeless meth heads wandering around (that have drifted into town over the last five years, the local long time homeless folks here effing hate them, because they cause so much trouble) acting generally aggressive and crazy. They tend to lean more white supremacist / Christian nationalist / “George Soros paid you guys to be here!” in their brand of crazy, but this dude LOOKS like one of those guys. So… IDK…?
