It’s happened to me more than once that I missed my exit on an unfamiliar roundabout, and what you do is you keep going around and exit through the right exit in the next loop.
It’s embarrassing, but perfectly legal.
Just make sure you pull to the left/inner lane (if there are multiple lanes in the roundabout), and move to the outer lane only when your exit is coming up. A pox on people who keep to the outer lane when they’re not taking the exit.
My understanding is you’re not allowed to make a full loop unless it’s unsafe to proceed.
Making a full loop is called a U-Turn and they are absolutely permitted.

Yeah, I think they were thinking of a barrel-roll.
If you enter at 6 o’clock and exit again at 6 o’clock, you have travelled 360° which is a full loop.
They went to school in the Midwest, don’t be too harsh on them.
Since you don’t go into the same lane you came from, it could be considered a horseshoe shape.

What!? I think I’ve done a loop at least once when missing the exit (to catch it properly in the second attempt).
