Vasily Kuksov was sentenced to 9 years in prison in the so-called Network Case, accused of participating in the activities of a “anarchist terrorist organization” and possession of weapons. He is expected to be released in October 2026.
While in pre-trial detention, Vasily was diagnosed with tuberculosis. He underwent a long treatment in the prison hospital and managed to defeat the illness. He is currently serving his sentence in a general-regime correctional colony in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
Vasily worked as a design engineer and volunteered at animal shelters. Since his student years, he has been passionate about music, participated in the “Khoper” singer-songwriter festival, and performed at the Penza Regional Philharmonic. He loves nature and hiking. His elderly parents are waiting for him to return home.
